Terminology3.1 Definitions:3.1.1 For definitions of terms relating to copper and copperalloys, refer to Terminol

19、ogy B 846.3.2 Definition of Term Specific to This Standard:3.2.1 capable ofthe test need not be performed by theproducer of the material. However, should subsequent testingby the purchaser establish that the material does not meet theserequirements, the material shall be subject to rejection.4. Orde

20、ring Information4.1 Include the following information when placing ordersfor product under this specification:4.1.1 ASTM Designation and year of approval (for ex-ample, ASTM B 111/B 111M 04),4.1.2 Copper or Copper Alloy UNS Designation (see Table1),4.1.3 Form (tube or ferrule stock),4.1.4 Temper (se

21、e Temper section),4.1.5 Dimensions, outside diameter, and wall thickness,whether minimum or nominal (Dimensions and PermissibleVariations Section),4.1.6 Quantitytotal weight or total length or number ofpieces of each size, and4.1.7 If product is purchased for agencies of the U.S.Government (see the

Materials and Manufacture5.1 MaterialsThe material shall be of such quality andpurity that the finished product shall have the properties andcharacteristics prescribed in this specification.5.2 ManufactureThe product shall be pro

26、duced by pro-cesses such as casting, extrusion, drawing, annealing, straight-ening, trimming, and other processes which may produce aseamless tube in the specified condition.6. Chemical Composition6.1 The product shall conform to the chemical requirementsspecified in Table 1.6.2 These composition li

27、mits do not preclude the presenceof other elements. Limits for unnamed elements may beestablished by agreement between manufacturer or supplierand purchaser.6.2.1 Copper Alloy UNS No. C19200Copper may betaken as the difference between the sum of all the elementsanalyzed and 100 %. When all the eleme

28、nts in Table 1 areanalyzed, their sum shall be 99.8 % minimum.6.2.2 For copper alloys in which copper is specified as theremainder, copper may be taken as the difference between thesum of all the elements analyzed and 100 %.6.2.2.1 When all the elements in Table 1 are analyzed, theirsum shall be as

30、jected to aninternal air pressure of 60 psig 400 kPa, min, for 5 s withoutshowing evidence of leakage. The test method used shallpermit easy visual detection of any leakage, such as by havingthe tube under water or by the pressure differential method.Any evidence of leakage shall be cause for reject

31、ion.14. Dimensions and Permissible Variations14.1 DiameterThe outside of the tubes shall not varyfrom that specified by more than the amounts shown in Table9 or Table 10 as measured by “go” and “no-go” ring gages.14.2 Wall Thickness Tolerances:14.2.1 Tubes Ordered to Minimum WallNo tube wall at itst

32、hinnest point shall be less than the specified wall thickness.The maximum plus deviation from the specified wall at anypoint shall not exceed twice the values shown in Tables 11 and12.14.2.2 Tubes Ordered to Nominal WallThe maximumplus and minus deviation from the nominal wall at any pointshall not

33、exceed the values shown in Tables 11 and 12.14.3 LengthThe length of the tubes shall not be less thanthat specified when measured at a temperature of 20C, butmay exceed the specified value by the amounts given in Tables13 and 14.14.4 Squareness of CutThe departure from squareness ofthe end of the tu

Workmanship, Finish and Appearance15.1 Roundness, straightness, uniformity of the wall thick-ness, and inner and out

40、er surface of the tube shall be such as tomake it suitable for the intended application. Unless otherwisespecified on the purchase order, the cut ends of the tubes shallbe deburred by use of a rotating wire wheel or other suitabletool.15.2 Annealed-temper or thermally stress-relieved tubesshall be c

41、lean and smooth but may have a superficial, dulliridescent film on both the inside and the outside surface.Drawn-temper tubes shall be clean and smooth, but may havea superficial film of drawing lubricant on the surfaces.16. Sampling16.1 SamplingThe lot size, portion size, and selection ofsample pie
