MaterialMaterials and Manufacture5.1 Material:Materials:5.1

15、1 The material of manufacture shall be annealed plate, sheet, strip, or disks of wrought Copper Alloy UNS No. C22000processed to produce even-topped cups.5.2 Manufacture:5.2.1 The product shall be blanked and cuppedmanufactured by such blanking and cupping to meet the cup dimensionsspecified, and s

16、ubsequently annealed, if required. The annealed cups shall be cleaned to provide a surface suitable for subsequentredrawing into bullet jackets.6. Chemical Composition6.1 The product shall conform to the chemical composition requirements prescribed in Table 1.6.2 These composition limits do not prec

17、lude the presence of other elements. By agreement between the manufacturer andpurchaser, limits may be established and analysis required for unnamed elements.6.3 Because zinc is listed as “remainder”,“remainder,” either copper or zinc may be taken as the difference between the sumof results of all o

18、ther elements determined and 100 %. When all elements in Table 1 are determined, the sum of the results shallbe 99.8 % min.7. Temper7.1 The standard tempers for products described in this specification are given in Table 2.7.1.1 Annealed tempers OS025 and OS040.8. Grain Size offor Annealed Tempers8.

19、1 Unless there is a prior agreement between the purchaser and supplier the grain size of class II cups shall be produced to haveaverage grain size corresponding to the limits of the OS025 or OS040 tempers as specified Grain size shall be the standardrequirement for all product in Table 2.the anneale

20、d tempers.8.1.1 Unless there is a prior agreement between the purchaser and supplier, the grain size of class II cups shall be produced tothe grain size requirements specified in Table 2.8.1.2 Grain size ranges other than those specified in Table 2 are to shall be established by agreement between th

21、e manufacturerand purchaser.8.1.3 Grain size ranges for other cups shall be established by agreement between the manufacturer and purchaser.8.1.4 Acceptance or rejection based upon grain size shall depend only on the average grain size of a test specimen taken fromeach of two sample portions, and ea

Dimensions, Mass, and Permissible VariationsVariation9.1 All dimensions and tolerances of cups shall be as indicated on the drawings furnished with

25、the purchase order or contract.10. Workmanship, Finish, and Appearance10.1 The cups shall be uniform in quality and shall be free of conditions which would interfere with the purpose for which thecups are intended.11. Sampling11.1 The lot size, portion size, and selection of pieces shall be as follo

26、ws:11.1.1 Lot Size40 000 lb (18 144 kg) or fraction thereof.11.1.2 Portion Size:11.1.2.1 For chemical analysis5 cups. In accordance with Practice E255, drillings, millings, etc., shall be taken inapproximately equal weight from each of the sample cups selected and combined into one composite sample.

27、The minimum weightof the composite sample that is divided into three equal parts shall be 150 g. Each of the three equal parts shall be placed in apackage and sealed: one for the seller, one for the purchaser, and one for an umpire.11.1.2.2 For grain size determination20 size20 cups.11.1.2.3 For the

Number of Tests and Retests12.1 Visual InspectionTest: Each cup in the sample shall be visually inspected.12.1.1 Major DefectsChemical AnalysisNotSe

30、irty cup, oxidized cup, dented or bent edges, or scratches.12.2 Work TestOther Tests: If required by the purchase order or contract, one of the following work tests may be performedby the purchaser before approval of a lot for shipment:12.2.1 Visual InspectionEach cup in the sample shall be visually

31、 inspected.12.2.1.1 Major DefectsNot more than 0.25 % of the cups in the sample shall contain the following major defectsscaly metal,deep scratches, laminations, slivers, laps, cracks, and wrinkles.12.2.1.2 Minor DefectsNot more than 2 % of the cups in the sample shall contain the following minor de

32、fectsoily cup, greasycup, dirty or gritty cup, oxidized cup, dented or bent edges, and scratches.12.2.2 Grain SizeEach cup in the sample shall be tested.12.2.3 Work TestFive hundred cups or more shall be subjected to a working test by processing them through the first drawingoperation. 33、l draw satisfactorily without showing defects that will cause them to be unsuitable for the purposeintended.If required by the purchase order or contract, one of the following work tests may be performed by the purchaser beforeapproval of a lot for shipment:12.2.3.1 Five hundred cups or more shall b

34、e subjected to a working test by processing them through the first drawing operation.The cups shall draw satisfactorily without showing defects that will cause them to be unsuitable for the purpose intended.12.2.3.2 Five thousand cups shall be subjected to a working test by processing them satisfact

35、orily into bullet jackets.11.2.2 Five thousand cups shall be subjected to a working test by processing them satisfactorily into bullet jackets.12.3 Grain SizeRetest: Each cup in the sample shall be tested.12.3.1 When requested by the manufacturer or supplier, a retest shall be permitted when results

37、ass the visual inspection examination or a work test, or if more than one specimen fails the grainsize test, a retest shall be permitted on a sample double that of the original sample. The result of the retest or retests shall meetthe specified requirements.12.3.3 Chemical AnalysisAn additional samp

38、le in accordance with 11.1.2.1 is permitted to be made and tested.11.4 Chemical AnalysisAn additional sample in accordance with 10.1.2.1 is permitted to be made and tested.13. Specimen Preparation13.1 For grain size measurements, either tangential grinding and polishing, or cutting, mounting, and po

39、lishing methods maybe used to reach the zone (Fig. 1).13.1.1 The test specimen shall be prepared in accordance with PracticeGuide E3.13.2 Specimens for chemical analysis shall be prepared in accordance with Practice E255.14. Test Methods13.1 The properties and chemical composition enumerated in this

Inspection16.1 The manufacturer or supplier shall inspe

49、ct and make the tests necessary to verify the furnished product conforms tospecification requirements.16.2 Measurement of DimensionsEach sample cup shall be gaged for compliance with all the dimensions shown on theapplicable drawing. In addition, each cup in the sample shall be measured for sidewall side wall thickness at two or more oppositepoints at the same distance from the mouth or base. The variation in wall thickness of any cup so measured shall be within thelimits as shown on the drawing.16.3 Source inspection of the product by the pu
