28、o the axis of the coilsuch that successive turns in a given layer are next to oneanother.3.1.4.2 coil, level or traverse wound on a reel or spool, nacoil in which the turns are positioned into layers on a reel orspool parallel to the axis of the reel or spool such thatsuccessive turns in a given lay

29、er are next to one another.3.1.4.3 coil, stagger wound, na coil in which the turns arepositioned into layers approximately parallel to the axis of thecoil, but not necessarily with the fixed regularity of a level ortraverse wound coil.3.1.5 length, nstraight pieces of the product.3.1.5.1 lengths, en

30、ds, nstraight pieces, shorter than thenominal length, left over after cutting the product into milllengths, stock lengths, or specific lengths. They are subject tominimum length and maximum weight requirements.3.1.5.2 lengths, mill, nstraight lengths, including ends,that can be conveniently manufact

Full lengthpieces are usually 10 or 12 ft 3000 or 3600 mm.3.1.5.3 lengths, multiple, nstraight lengths of integralmultiples of a base length, with suitable allowance for cuttingwhen specified.3.1.5.4 lengths, specific, nstraight lengths that are uni-form in length, as specified, an

They are usually 10 or 12 ft3000 or 3600 mm and subject to established length toler-ances.3.1.

35、ter and straightness.3.1.7.2 rod, shafting, na round rod specially manufac-tured to the close straightness tolerances required for use inshafting.3.1.8 shape, na solid section other than regular rod, bar,plate, sheet, strip, or flat wire, and may be of oval, half oval,half round, triangular, pentago

36、nal, or of any special crosssection furnished in straight lengths.3.1.9 unaided eye, adjvisual inspection without the use ofspecial equipment or enhancement excepting the use of cor-rective lenses.3.2 For other terms not referenced herein, see TerminologyB 846.4. Materials and Manufacture4.1 Materia

37、ls:4.1.1 The materials shall conform to the published compo-sitional requirements of the Copper or Copper Alloy UNS No.designation specified in the ordering information.4.1.2 In the event heat identification or traceability isrequired, the purchaser shall specify the details desired.NOTE 2Because of

38、 the discontinuous nature of the processing ofcastings into wrought products, it is not always practical to identifyspecific casting analysis with a specific quantity of finished material.4.2 ManufactureThe product shall be produced by hotworking, cold working, or both, and finished by such coldwork

39、ing, annealing or heat treatment and straightening as maybe necessary to meet the properties specified.4.2.1 EdgesThe edge shall be drawn, extruded, or rolled;refer to Edge Contours in Section 6.5. Chemical Composition5.1 The material of manufacture shall conform to thecompositional requirements pre

40、scribed in the product specifi-cation.5.1.1 When a product (check) sample is analyzed by thepurchaser, the material shall conform to the compositionalrequirements within the permitted analytical variance given inthe product specification.5.2 The composition limits established for the Copper orCopper

41、 Alloy UNS No. designation specified in the productspecification does not preclude the presence of other elements.Limits may be established and analysis required for unnamedelements by agreement between the manufacturer or supplierand the purchaser.5.3 When material composition has been determined d

42、uringthe course of manufacture, analysis of the finished product bythe manufacturer is not required.6. Dimensions, Mass and Permissible Variations6.1 GeneralFor the purpose of determining conformancewith the dimensional requirements, any measured value out-side the specified limiting values for any

43、dimension may because for rejection.NOTE 3Blank spaces in the tolerance tables indicate either that thematerial generally is not available or that no tolerances are established.6.2 Diameter or Distance Between Parallel SurfacesThediameter of round sections or the distance between parallelsurfaces in
