Materials and Manufacture4.1 Materials:4.1.1 The materials of manufacture shall be a form (cast bar,billet, rod, etc.) of the copper or copper alloy cov
17、ered by theproduct specification, of such purity and soundness as to besuitable for processing into the products required.4.1.2 In the event heat identification or traceability isrequired, the purchaser shall specify the details desired.NOTE 1Due to the discontinuous nature of the processing of cast
18、ingsinto wrought products, it is not always practical to identify specific castinganalysis with a specific quantity of finished material.4.2 Manufacture:4.2.1 The material shall be manufactured by such hotworking, cold working, and annealing processes as to producea uniform wrought structure in the
19、finished product.4.2.2 The product shall be hot or cold worked to the finishedsize, and subsequently annealed when required, to meet thetemper properties specified in the product specification.4.2.3 EdgesThe edges shall be drawn or rolled: refer toDimensions and Permissible Variations section.5. Che
20、mical Composition5.1 The material of manufacture shall conform to thechemical composition requirements prescribed in the productspecification.5.1.1 Results of analysis on a product (check) sample shallconform to the composition requirements within the permittedanalytical variance specified in the pr
21、oduct specification.5.2 The composition limits established for the Copper AlloyUNS No. designation specified in the product specification donot preclude the presence of other elements. By agreementbetween the manufacturer and the purchaser, limits may beestablished and analysis required for unnamed
22、elements.5.3 When chemical composition has been determined dur-ing the course of manufacture, analysis of the finished productby the manufacturer is not required unless specifically stipu-lated in the contract or purchase order.6. Dimensions and Permissible Variations6.1 GeneralFor the purpose of de
23、termining conformancewith the dimensional requirements prescribed in this specifi-cation, any measured value outside the specified limiting valuefor any dimension may be cause for rejection.NOTE 2Blank spaces in the tolerance tables indicate either that thematerial is not generally available or that
24、 no tolerances have beenestablished.6.2 Diameter or Distance Between Parallel SurfacesThemethod of specifying wire diameter or distances betweenparallel surfaces shall be in decimal fractions of an inch or inmillimetres.
