Material and Manufacture6.1 Material:6.1.1 The tube shall be from Copper UNS No. C10800(oxygen free, low phosphorus), C12000 (phosphorus deoxi-dized, low residual phosphorus), or C12200 (phosphorusdeoxidized, high residual phosphorus) and of such purity andsoun

18、dness as to be suitable for processing in to the productprescribed herein.6.1.2 When heat identification or traceability is required, thedetails desired shall be specified in the contract or purchaseorder.NOTE 2Due to the discontinuous nature of processing castings intowrought products it is not pra

19、ctical to identify specific casting analysiswith a specific quantity of finished product.6.2 Manufacture:6.2.1 The product shall be finished by cold drawing.6.2.2 The tube shall be finished by degreasing or othercleaning operations to meet the stringent requirements forcleanness of the inner diamete

20、r.6.2.3 The outside and inside of both ends of straight lengthsshall be made free of burrs that could restrict flow, by burr-freecutting, brushing, or chamfering.6.2.4 The maximum allowable residue as determined by thecleanness test described in 16.4 shall not exceed the valuegiven in Table 2 for th

21、e tube size tested.7. Chemical Composition7.1 The product shall conform to the specified Copper UNSNo. designation as in Table 1.7.1.1 These composition limits do not preclude the presenceof other elements. Limits may be established and analysisrequired for un-named elements by agreement between the

22、manufacturer and purchaser.8. Temper8.1 The tubes shall be furnished in the H807(hard drawn)condition.9. Mechanical Property Requirements9.1 Tensile Strength:9.1.1 The tubes shall have a tensile strength of 45 ksi (310MPa) minimum.10. Other Requirements10.1 Embrittlement Requirement:10.1.1 Samples o

23、f product produced from Coppers UNSNos. C10800 and C12000 shall be capable of passing theembrittlement test of Procedure B of Test Methods B 577. Theactual performance of this test is not mandatory under theterms of this specification unless specified in the orderinginformation. In case of a dispute

24、, a referee method in accor-dance with Procedure C shall be employed.10.2 Cleanness Requirement:10.2.1 The residue attributable to the tubes shall not exceed0.0002 g/in.2(0.310 g/m2) of internal surface of the tube whensubjected to test as directed in 16.4 (Refer to Table 2)10.3 Air Flow Requirement

25、:10.3.1 The tubes shall conform to the air flow requirements,in ft3/min cfm stipulated at the time of order placement, whentested in accordance with the test in 16.5.11. Dimensions, Mass, and Permissible Variations11.1 Outside Diameter Tolerance:11.1.1 The average outside diameter tolerance shall be

26、60.002 in. (0.051 mm).11.2 Inside Diameter Tolerance:11.2.1 The average inside diameter tolerance shall be60.001 in. (0.025 mm) which shall be determined by the airflow test.11.3 Straightness:11.3.1 The straightness tolerance shall be in accordancewith Table 3.12. Workmanship, Finish and Appearance1

27、2.1 The inside and outside edges of both ends of straightlengths of tube shall be free of burrs (see 6.2.2).13. Sampling13.1 The lot size, portion size, and selection of pieces shallbe as follows:13.1.1 Lot Size1000 pieces, or minimum of 100 lb, orfraction thereof.13.1.2 Portion Size0.2 % of the pie

28、ces in the lot, or aminimum of four pieces, whichever is greater.13.2 Chemical Composition:13.2.1 The sample shall be taken in approximately equalweight from each portion piece selected in 13.1.2 and preparedin accordance with Practice E 255. The minimum weight of thecomposite sample shall be 150 g.

30、ce with PracticeE 255, the manufacturer shall have the option of sampling atthe time castings are poured or taken from the semi-finishedproduct. When the chemical composition has been determinedduring the course of manufacture, sampling of the finishedproduct is not required.13.2.3 The number of sam

31、ples taken during the course ofmanufacture shall be as follows:13.2.3.1 When samples are taken at the time the castings arepoured, at least one sample shall be taken for each group ofcastings poured simultaneously from the same source ofmolten metal.13.2.3.2 When samples are taken from the semi-fini

32、shedproduct, a sample shall be taken to represent each 10 000 lb(4537 kg) or fraction thereof, except that not more than onesample per piece shall be required.13.3 Other Tests:13.3.1 Specimens for all other tests shall be taken from twoof the sample pieces taken in 13.1.2.14. Number of Tests and Ret

33、ests14.1 Tests:14.1.1 Chemical AnalysisChemical composition shall bedetermined as the per element average of results from at leasttwo replicate analysis of the sample and each determinationmust meet the specification requirements.14.1.2 Tensile StrengthShall be reported as the averageresults obtaine

34、d from the specimen prepared from each of twopieces selected in 13.1.2.14.1.3 Specimens for all other test must conform to speci-fication requirements.14.2 Retests:14.2.1 When requested by the manufacturer or supplier, aretest shall be permitted when test results obtained by thepurchaser fail to con

35、form with the product specification re-quirement(s).14.2.2 Retesting shall be as directed in the product specifi-cation for the initial test, except for the number of testspecimens which shall be twice that normally required for thetest. Test results for all specimens shall conform to the productspe

36、cification requirement(s) in retest and failure to complyshall be cause for lot rejection.15. Specimen Preparation15.1 Chemical Analysis:15.1.1 Preparation of the analytical specimens shall be theresponsibility of the reporting laboratory.15.2 Tensile Strength:15.2.1 The test specimen shall be of th

37、e full section of thetube and shall conform to the requirements specified in thesection “Specimens for Pipe and Tube” in Test Methods E8.15.3 Embrittlement:15.3.1 Test specimens shall be prepared in accordance withProcedure B of Test Methods B 577.
