Chemical Composition6.1 The castings shall conform to the chemical requirementsshown in Table 2 for the copper alloy UNS numbers specifiedin
20、 the purchase order.6.2 These specification limits do not preclude the presenceof other elements. Limits may be established and analysisrequired for unnamed elements agreed upon between themanufacturer or supplier and the purchaser. Copper may begiven as remainder and may be taken as the difference
21、betweenthe sum of all elements analyzed and 100 %. When all theelements in the table are analyzed, their sum shall be 99.5 %minimum.7. Mechanical Properties7.1 Mechanical properties shall be determined from sepa-rately cast test bar castings, and shall meet the requirementsshown in Table 3.8. Weldab
22、ility Test8.1 When specified in the purchase order at least one testcast as shown in Fig. 1 shall be prepared for each lot of weldinggrade castings (5.2.6).8.2 The block shall be molded, gated, and risered in such amanner to produce a sound casting without defects that mightinterfere with welding or
23、 the interpretation of the results of thetest.8.3 The groove in the test block shall be completely filledwith weld deposit metal, using the manual metallic-arc processwith18-in. (12.7-mm) or532-in. (3.97-mm) diameter copper-nickel (70-30) coated electrodes conforming to classificationAWS ECuNi of AW
24、S Specification A5.6. The interpass tem-perature need not be controlled, unless it is to be controlled infabrication.8.4 One38-in. (9.52-mm) minimum thick bend coupon (seeFig. 2), shall be removed longitudinally from the center of thewelded block by machining, sawing, abrasive cutting, or othersuita
25、ble means. Cut surfaces and edges should be sandedsmooth if necessary. The side bend specimen then shall be bent180 in a guided bend jig around a mandrel 112 in. Weld repairs may be made at the manufacturers discre-tion provided each excavation does not exceed 20 % of thecas
31、ting section or wall thickness or 4 % of the casting surfacearea.9.2 Excavations that exceed those described in 9.1 may bemade at the manufacturers discretion except that when speci-fied in the purchase order (5.2.7) the weld procedure shall beapproved by the purchaser and the following record shall
32、 bemaintained:9.2.1 A sketch or drawing showing the dimensions, depth,and location of excavations;9.2.2 Post weld heat treatment, when applicable;9.2.3 Weld repair inspection results;9.2.4 Casting identification number;9.2.5 Weld procedure identification number;9.2.6 Welder identification; and9.2.7
33、Name of inspector.9.3 The castings shall not be impregnated without approvalof the purchaser.10. Sampling10.1 Test bar castings for tension testing of the copper alloyUNS numbers in this specification shall be cast to the form anddimensions shown in Fig. 1 or Fig. 2 of Practice B208.11. Test Methods
34、11.1 Analytical chemical methods are given in SpecificationB824.11.1.1 Test methods to be followed for the determination ofelements resulting from contractual or purchase order agree-ment shall be as agreed upon between the manufacturer orsupplier and the purchaser.12. ASME Requirements12.1 When spe
35、cified in the purchase order to meet ASMEBoiler and Pressure Vessel Code requirements, castings ofCopper Alloy UNS No. C96200 shall comply with the follow-ing:12.1.1 Certification requirements of Specification B824.12.1.2 Foundry test report requirements of SpecificationB824.12.1.3 Castings shall be
36、 marked with the manufacturersname, the copper alloy UNS number, and the casting qualityfactor. In addition, heat numbers or serial numbers that aretraceable to heat numbers shall be marked on all pressure-containing castings individually weighing 50 lb (22.7 kg) ormore. Pressure-containing castings
37、 weighing less than 50 lb(22.7 kg) shall be marked with either the heat number or aserial number that will identify the casting as to the month inwhich it was poured.
