Scope1.1 This specification covers an all

3、oy containing palladium,silver, copper, platinum, and nickel in the form of wire, rod,and strip for electrical contacts.1.2 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regardedas standard. The values given in parentheses are mathematicalconversions to SI units that are provided for information o

8、ure3.1 Raw materials shall be of such quality and purity thatthe finished product will have the properties and characteristicsprescribed in this specification.3.2 The material shall be finished by such operations (coldworking, heat treating, annealing, turning, grinding, pickling)and are required to

9、 produce the prescribed properties.4. Chemical Composition4.1 Material produced under this specification shall meet therequirements of chemical composition shown in Table 1.5. Mechanical Properties5.1 The contract or order may specify ultimate tensilestrength, elongation, microhardness (Knoop or Vic

10、kers), hard-ness (Rockwell or Rockwell Superficial), or a combination ofthese mechanical properties as temper criterion. If the contractor order does not specify a temper criterion, then the criterionfor temper designation will be ultimate tensile strength andelongation.5.2 The material shall confor

11、m to the mechanical propertiesshown in Table 2, Table 3,orTable 4.6. General Requirements6.1 Specification B476 shall apply to all materials producedto this specification.7. Test Methods7.1 Test methods are in accordance with Specification B476.7.2 All tension tests are in accordance with Test Metho

12、ds E8and tensile specimens are full cross-section size when practi-cal. Elongation measurements should be based on a 2 in. (50mm) gage length.7.3 Hardness is in accordance with Test Method E384. Testmaterial 0.005 in. (0.13 mm) in thickness (diameter) and largerusing a 100 g indenter load. Test mate

13、rial less than 0.005 in. inthickness (diameter) using a 50 g indenter load. Make aminimum of five hardness indentations on each specimen.Make all indentations so that the long axis of the Knoopindenter is parallel to the rolling or drawing direction of thematerial.1This specification is under the ju

31、aterial in the solution-annealed and stress-relieved tempers may be age hardened by subjecting it to an elevated temperature for a specified period of time.Temperatures ranging from 800 to 1000F (430 to 540C) at times from 10 to 45 min (the lower temperatures require the longer times) are ordinarily useful.
