Chemical Composition6.1 The material shall conform to the chemical compositionrequirements specified in Table 1 for the copper alloy UNS No.designation specified in the ordering information.6.2 These composition limits do not preclude the presenceof other
18、elements. By agreement between manufacturer orsupplier and purchaser, limits may be established and analysisrequired for unnamed elements.6.3 Copper may be given as remainder and taken as thedifference between the sum of all the elements analyzed and100%. When all the elements in the table including
19、 copper areanalyzed, their sum shall be 99.7% min.7. Materials and Manufacture7.1 ManufactureSpinodal Heat Treatment.7.1.1 Solution-heat-treatment or solution-heat-treated andcold-worked material is normally spinodal hardened by thepurchaser after forming or machining.7.1.2 Mill-hardened products ha
20、ve been spinodal heattreated by the manufacturer. Further thermal treatment is notnormally required.8. Temper8.1 The standard tempers for products described in thisspecification are given in Tables 2-48.1.1 TB00 (Solution Heat Treated)8.1.2 TD01 to TD 12 (Solution Heat Treated with varyingdegrees of
21、 cold working)8.1.3 TX00 ( Spinodal Hardened)8.1.4 TS01 to TS12 (Hard and Spinodal Hardened)8.1.5 TM00 to TS08 (mill hardened)8.2 Other tempers are available and shall be subject toagreement between supplier or manufacturer and purchaser.9. Grain Size for Annealed Tempers9.1 Product over 0.010 in. (
22、0.25 mm) in thickness shall havean average grain-size not exceeding the limits prescribed inTable 5. The determinations are made on the separate samplesand in a plane perpendicular to the surface.10. Mechanical Property Requirements10.1 Tensile Strength Requirements:10.1.1 The solution heat-treated
23、or solution heat-treated andcold-worked material shall conform to the tensile propertyrequirements specified in Table 2, when tested in accordancewith Test Methods E8.10.1.2 The spinodal heat-treated material shall conform tothe tensile property requirements specified in Table 3.10.1.2.1 Special com
24、binations of properties such as in-creased ductility, electrical conductivity, dimensional accuracy,endurance life, improved stress relaxation resistance, resistanceto elastic drift, and hysteresis in springs may be obtained byspecial spinodal-hardening treatments. The mechanical re-quirements of Ta
25、ble 3 do not apply to such special heattreatments.10.1.3 The mill-hardened material shall conform to thetensile property requirements specified in Table 4.11. Performance Requirements11.1 Bend TestingThe bend test is a method for evaluatingthe ductility of mill-hardened copper-nickel-tin spinodal al
26、loystrip in thicknesses of 0.004 to 0.020 in. (0.102 to 0.508 mm),inclusive.11.1.1 Material in tempers TM00, TM02, TM04, and TM06shall conform to the bend test requirements specified in Table4 when tested in accordance with 15.2.1.11.1.2 To pass the test, all three specimens tested from a lotmust wi
27、thstand the 90 bend without visible cracks of fracturewhen observed of the convex surface of the bend at amagnification of 310.12. Retests13.1 If any lot of material fails to conform to the require-ments of this specification due to inadequate heat treatment,new samples of materi

Only two such reheat treatments shall be permitted.13.2 If any lot of material fails to conform to the bend testrequirements of this specification, one retest is permitted ifonly one of the three specimens fails the test. No retest ispermitted if t
32、wo or more specimens fail the test.14. Specimen Preparation14.1 For the purpose of determining conformance to themechanical properties of Table 3, a sample of the non-spinodally hardened strip of alloys C72700 and C72900material shall be heat treated at 662 +/- 9F (350 +/- 5C) for1 h +/- 5 min and a
33、 sample of the as-supplied strip of alloyC72650 shall be heat treated at 725 +/- 9 (385 +/- 5C) for 2h +/- 5 min. Other heat-treating temperatures and times may bepreferred for end products of this material.14.2 Specimens for the determination of grain size shall beprepared in accordance with Guide
34、E3.14.3 For bend testing, three specimens,12 6116 in. (12.706 1.59 mm) in width of any convenient length, with the rollingdirection perpendicular to the12 in. dimension, shall beprepared and tested in accordance with Test Method B 820.15.
