Materials and Manufacture5.1 The al

16、loys may be made by any approved process.5.2 The material covered by this specification shall be of uniform quality and shall be free from dross, slag, or other harmfulcontamination. The ingot shall also be reasonably free of surface corrosion and adhering foreign matter.6. Chemical Requirements6.1

17、LimitsThis alloy shall conform to the requirements as to chemical composition prescribed in Table 1. Conformance shallbe determined by the producer by analyzing samples taken at the time the ingots are made. If the producer has determined thechemical composition of the metal during the course of man

18、ufacture, he shall not be required to sample and analyze the finishedproduct.6.2In case of dispute, the following requirements shall apply:6.2.1Number of SamplesSamples for verification of chemical composition shall be taken as follows:6.2.1.1If the ingots are shipped in carload lots of the same all

19、oy, not less than five ingots shall be taken at random from thecarload for sampling. If the shipment is less than a carload lot, one sample ingot shall be taken for each 10000 lb (4500 kg) orfraction thereof. When it is deemed necessary, a sample may be taken from each melt of 1000 lb (450 kg) or mo

20、re.6.3Methods of SamplingSamples from ingots for determination of chemical composition shall be taken in accordance with oneof the following methods:6.3.1Samples for chemical analysis shall be taken from the material by drilling, sawing, milling, turning, or clipping arepresentative piece or pieces

21、to obtain weight of prepared sample not less than 100 g. Sampling shall be in accordance withPractice E88.6.3.2By agreement, an optional method of sampling for analysis may be by melting together representative portions of each ingotselected, and then sampling the liquid composite by casting suitabl

22、e specimens for either spectrographic or chemical analysis.6.3.3Sample may also be in the form of a separately cast spectrographic specimen taken from the same pour used to cast theingot.6.4Method of AnalysisThe determination of chemical composition shall be made in accordance with suitable chemical

23、 (TestMethods E536), suitable spectrochemical methods ISO 3815-1 or ISO 3815-2, or other methods. In case of dispute, the resultsshould preferably be secured by Test Methods E536, ISO 3815-1 or ISO 3815-2 and shall be the basis of acceptance.6.2 Chemical requirement procedures shall be in compliance

24、 with the provisions of Specification B949, Section 5.2.7. Source Inspection7.1If the purchaser desires that his representative inspect or witness the inspection and testing of the product prior to shipment,such agreement shall be made by the purchaser and producer or supplier as part of the contrac

25、t or purchase order.7.2When such inspection or witness of inspection and testing is agreed upon, the producer or supplier shall afford the purchasersrepresentative all reasonable facilities to satisfy him that the product meets the requirements of this specification. Sampling for Chemical Analysis7.1 Sampling procedures shall be in compliance with the provisions of Specification B949, Section 6.8. Method of Chemical Analysis8.1 The determination of chemical composition shall be made in accord

30、ance with Test Methods E536, or ISO 3815-1, or ISO3815-2 or other methods. In case of dispute, the results secured by Test Methods E536, or ISO 3815-1, or ISO 3815-2 shall bethe basis of acceptance.NOTE 1Test Methods E536 is directly applicable, in an unmodified form, only to alloys 3, 5, and 7. ISO

31、 3815-1 and ISO 3815-2 are generic methodsapplied to zinc and zinc alloys. Each of the methods may be modified and formatted for the alloy to be assayed. An experienced chemist, using suitableand/or traceable standards along with valid quality assurance techniques, will be able to perform and valida

32、te the methods and demonstrate acceptableprecision and accuracy.9. Rejection and Rehearing8.1Material that fails to conform to the requirements of this specification may be rejected. Rejection should be reported to theproducer or supplier promptly and in writing. In case of dissatisfaction with the

33、results of the test, the producer or supplier maymake claim for a rehearing. If the rehearing establishes that the material does not conform to the requirements of this specification,as much of the rejected original material as possible shall be returned to the producer or supplier.9.Identification

34、Marking9.1All ingots shall be properly marked for identification with the producers name or brand.9.2Each bundle or skid shall be identified with the producers heat, lot, or other identification mark.9.3Each ingot, bundle or skid shall be marked with the appropriate Color Code for the alloy as per N

35、orthAmerican Requirementsin Practice B908.9.1 Claims to be considered in accordance with the provisions of Specification B949, Section 8.10. Preparation for Delivery10.1PackagingUnless otherwise specified, the ingot shall be packaged to provide adequate protection during normal handlingand transport

36、ation. Each package shall contain only one alloy unless otherwise agreed upon. Investigation of Claims10.1 Claims shall be investigated in accordance with the provisions of Specification B949, Section 811. Settlement of Claims11.1 Claims shall be settled in accordance with the provisions of Specific
