Terminology3.1 Definitions of Terms Specific to This Standard:3.1.1 coils, nwire in coil form with pitch and cast asdescribed by purchaser.3.1.2 straight lengths, nwire in straight lengths, generallymade by straightening wire from coils by the producer
18、.3.1.3 weld wire, nround wire for welding.3.1.4 wire, nrounds, flats, or special shapes from 0.020 in.(0.5 mm) to 0.250 in. (6.4 mm) in thickness or majordimension.4. Product Classification4.1 WireSee 3.1.4.4.2 CoilsCoiled wire may be spooled on spools if re-quired by the user.4.3 Straight LengthsAf

(6.4 to 3.2 mm) shall have theyield strength determined in accordance with Test MethodsE8, and the elongation measured and reported over 4D (4diameters).7.2.2 Wire and shapes with the diameter or smallest dimen-sion less than
31、0.125 in. (3.2 mm) shall have the elongationdetermined over 2 in. (50.8 mm) unless defined otherwise bythe purchaser. The reported value shall be expressed as apercentage elongation in 1 in. or equivalent.7.3 The yield strength requirements in Table 2 only apply tosizes of 0.125 in. (3.2 mm) and abo

The utmost care must be used insampling titanium for chemical analysis because of its greataffinity for elements such as oxygen, nitrogen, and hydrogen. Therefore, in cutting samples for analysis, the operation shouldbe carried out insofar

Methods of Chemical Analysis11.1 The chemical analysis shall be conducted by thestandard techniques normally
