Terminology3.1 Definitions:3.1.1 ingota cast form suitable for remelting.3.1.2 stickan extruded form substantially uniform in crosssection cut to desired length or weight.4. Ordering Information4.1 Orders for ingot and sti
6、ck under this specification shallinclude the following information:4.1.1 Grade (Section 6 and Table 1),4.1.2 Quantity, in pieces or pounds kilograms, and4.1.3 Form; by agreement between the purchaser and themanufacturer the approximate form and weight of each pieceor ingot may be specified.4.1.4 For
7、 inch-pound orders specify B92, for metric ordersspecify B92M. Do not mix units.5. Materials and Manufacture5.1 No scrap shall be used in the production of magnesiumingot and stick, except such as shall accumulate at themanufacturers plants from material of similar composition andof his own manufact
8、ure.6. Chemical Composition6.1 LimitsThe material shall conform to the requirementsas to chemical composition prescribed in Table 1.6.2 Sampling:6.2.1 Sufficient samples shall be taken by the manufacturerto assure conformance to the chemical composition require-ments of the alloy. Samples may be tak
9、en from the moltenmetal when the ingot is poured or from the ingot. Samples shallbe representative of the material.6.2.2 In case of dispute, the sampling for chemical analysisshall be according to the requirements of Practice E88.Iftheingots are shipped in carload lots of the same alloy, not lesstha
10、n four ingots shall be taken at random from the carload forsampling. If the shipment is in less than carload lots, one ingotshall be taken for sampling for each 10 000 lb 4500 kg orfraction thereof.6.3 Methods of AnalysisAny suitable method of chemicalanalysis may be used. In case of dispute, the an
11、alysis shall bemade by methods given in Test Methods E35, or any otherstandard methods of analysis approved by ASTM unless someother method is agreed upon by the purchaser and vendor.7. General Quality7.1 Magnesium ingot and stick shall have a clean surfaceand shall be commercially free from dirt, s

Rejection8.1 Material that does not conform to the requirements ofthis specification may be rejected, and
15、if rejected the conditionsof replacement shall be as agreed upon between the purchaserand the seller. The sellers responsibility shall be limited to aperiod of six months from shipping date unless other agree-ment is made by the purchaser and seller.9. Packaging, Marking, and Shipping9.1 The materia
16、l shall be packaged in such a manner as toprevent damage in ordinary handling and transportation. Thetype of packaging and gross weight of individual containersshall be left to the discretion of the seller unless otherwiseagreed upon. Packaging methods and containers shall be soselected as to permit
17、 maximum utility of mechanical equip-ment in unloading and subsequent handling. Each package orcontainer shall contain only one size and form of material whenpacked for shipment unless otherwise agreed upon.9.2 Packages or containers shall be such as to ensureacceptance by common or other carriers f
18、or safe transportationat the lowest rate to the point of delivery.9.3 Each package or container shall be marked with thepurchase order number, form, quantity, specification number,gross and net weights, and the name of the manufacturer.10.
