Classification4.1 Type DesignationThe type designation uses the fol-lowing symbols to properly identify the material:4.1.1 Alloy Compos

17、itionThe composition is identified bya two or four-letter symbol and a number. The letters typicallyindicate the chemical symbol for the critical element(s) in thewire and the number indicates the nominal percentage, byweight, of the primary element in the wire (see Table 1).5. Ordering Information5

18、.1 Orders for material under this specification indicate thefollowing information, as required, to adequately describe thedesired material.5.1.1 Type designation (see 4.1),5.1.2 Detailed requirements for special forms,5.1.3 Dimensions of wire (see 9.2),5.1.4 Unit weight,5.1.5 Packaging (see Section

19、17),5.1.6 Marking (see Section 16),5.1.7 ASTM Specification number and issue, marked on (a)purchase order and (b) package or spool, and5.1.8 Special requirements, as agreed upon between sup-plier and purchaser.6. Materials and Manufacture6.1 The producer shall have each lot of wire as uniform inqual

Workmanship, Finish and Appearance9.1 The wire shall be clean and free of corrosion, adheringforeign material, scale, seams, nicks, burrs, and other defectswhich would interfere with the operation of thermal sprayingequipment. The wire shall uncoil readily and

24、be free of bendsor kinks that would prevent its passage through the thermalspray gun.9.2 The wire shall be a continuous length per spool, coil, ordrum. Splices or welds are permitted, provided that they do notinterfere with the thermal spray equipment or coating process.9.3 The starting end of each

25、coil shall be tagged to indicatewinding direction and to be readily identifiable with ASTMdesignation.10. Sampling10.1 Sampling methodology should ensure that the sampleselected for testing is representative of the material. Themethod for sampling consists of one of the following methods:10.1.1 Anal
