Scope*1.1 This specification covers zinc alloys in ingot form forremelting for the manufacture of Spin Castings as specified anddesignated,

Chemical Requi

16、rements6.1 LimitsThe alloy shall conform to the requirements asto chemical composition prescribed in Table 1. Conformanceshall be determined by the producer by analyzing samplestaken at the time the ingots are made. If the producer hasdetermined the chemical composition of the metal during thecourse

17、 of manufacture, it shall not be required to sample andanalyze the finished product.6.2 In case of dispute, the following requirements shallapply:6.2.1 Number of SamplesSamples for verification ofchemical composition shall be taken as follows:6.2.2 If the ingots are shipped in carload lots of the sa

18、mealloy, not less than five (5) ingots shall be taken at random fromthe carload for sampling. If the shipment is less than a carloadlot, one (1) sample ingot shall be taken from each 10 000 lb.4500 kg or fraction thereof. When it is deemed necessary, asample may be taken from each melt of 1000 lb. 4

19、50 kg ormore.6.3 Methods of SamplingSamples from ingots for deter-mination of chemical composition shall be taken in accordancewith one of the following methods:6.3.1 Samples for chemical analysis shall be taken from thematerial by drilling, sawing milling, turning, or clipping arepresentative piece

20、 or pieces to obtain weight of preparedsample not less than 100 g. Sampling shall be in accordancewith Practice E88.6.3.2 By agreement, an optional method of sampling foranalysis may be by melting together representative portions ofeach ingot selected, and then sampling the liquid composite bycastin

21、g suitable specimens for either spectrographic or chemi-cal analysis.6.4 Method of AnalysisThe determination of chemicalcomposition shall be made in accordance with suitable chemi-cal Test Methods E536, suitable spectrochemical methodsISO 3815-1 and ISO 3815-2, or other methods. In case ofdispute, t

22、he results should preferably be secured by TestMethods E536 or ISO 3815-1 or ISO 3815-2 and shall be thebasis of acceptance.NOTE 1Test Methods E536 is not directly applicable to the alloys inSpecification B952/B952M. ISO 3815-1 and ISO 3815-2 are genericmethods applied to zinc and zinc alloys. Each

23、of the methods may bemodified and formatted for the alloy to be assayed. An experiencedchemist, using suitable and/or traceable standards along with valid qualityassurance techniques, will be able to perform and validate the methodsand demonstrate acceptable precision and accuracy.6.5 Samples for sp

24、ectrochemical and other methods ofanalysis shall be suitable for the form of material beinganalyzed and the type of analytical method used (for example,see Practice E634.7. Source Inspection7.1 If the purchaser desires that his representative inspect orwitness the inspection and testing of the produ

25、ct prior toshipment, such agreement shall be made by the purchaser andproducer or supplier as part of the contract or purchase order.7.2 When such inspection or witness of inspection andtesting is agreed upon, the producer or supplier shall afford thepurchasers representative all reasonable faciliti

26、es to satisfyhim that the product meets the requirements of this specifica-tion. Inspection and tests shall be conducted so there is nounnecessary interference with the producers operations.8. Rejection and Rehearing8.1 Material that fails to conform to the requirements of thisspecification may be r

27、ejected. Rejection should be reported tothe producer or supplier promptly and in writing. In case ofdissatisfaction with the results of the test, the producer orsupplier may make claim for a rehearing. If the rehearingestablishes that the material does not conform to the require-ments of this specif

28、ication, as much of the rejected originalmaterial as possible shall be returned to the producer orsupplier.9. Identification Marking9.1 All ingots shall be properly marked for identificationwith the producers name or brand.9.2 Each bundle or skid shall be identified with the produc-ers heat, lot or
