1、Designation: C 1097 07Standard Specification forHydrated Lime for Use in Asphalt Cement or BituminousPavements1This standard is issued under the fixed designation C 1097; the number immediately following the designation indicates the year oforiginal adoption or, in the case of revision, the year of
2、last revision. A number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval. Asuperscript epsilon (e) indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1. Scope*1.1 This specification covers high calcium, dolomitic andmagnesian-hydrated lime for use in asphalt cement or bitumi-nou
3、s pavement.NOTE 1Hydrated lime, either calcitic, dolomitic, or magnesian, im-proves bonding of bitumen and aggregates which reduces susceptibility tomoisture damage, reduces age hardening by chemically stabilizing polarcompounds found in asphalts, and increases initial stiffness of asphaltmixtures.N
4、OTE 2No attempt is made to present requirements for any by-product lime.1.2 This standard does not purport to address the safetyconcerns associated with its use. It is the responsibility of theuser of this standard to establish appropriate safety and healthpractices and determine the applicability o

Physical Requirements5.1 Hydrated lime, either dry or slurry form, shall not havemore than 3.0 % retained on a No. 30 (600 m) sieve and notmore than 30 % retained on a No. 200 (75 m) sieve.NOTE 3Specification D 242 also contains physical specifications forhydrated l

For the two size gradations includedin both Specification D 242 and Specification C 1097, the specificationsare the same.5.2 The particle size of hydrated lime shall be determined inaccordance with Test
