Terminology3.1 Definitions shall be in accordance with Terminology C11.3.2 Definitions of Terms Spec

7、ific to This Standard:3.2.1 glass mat, na mat of glass fibers with or without a binder.3.2.2 edge, nthe bound edge as manufactured.3.2.3 weather barrier, na material that prevents the passage of rain, sleet and snow.4. Materials and Manufacture4.1 Glass Mat Gypsum Substrate shall consist of a noncom

8、bustible water-resistant core, essentially gypsum, gypsum complyingwith Specification C22, surfaced with glass mat partially, or completely embedded in the core.4.2 Glass Mat Gypsum Substrate, type X (special fire-resistant) designates glass mat gypsum substrate complying with thisspecification that

9、 provide not less than 1-h fire resistance rating for substrate 58 in. 15.9 mm thick or 34-h fire resistance ratingfor substrate 12 in. 12.7 mm thick, applied parallel with and on each side of load bearing 2 by 4 wood studs spaced 16 in. 406mm on center with 6d coated nails, 1 78 in. 48 mm long, 0.0

10、915 in. 2.3 mm diameter shank, 14 in. 6.4 mm diameter heads,spaced 7 in. 178 mm on center with glass mat gypsum substrate joints staggered 16 in. 406 mm on each side of the partitionand tested in accordance with Test Methods E119.NOTE 1Consult manufacturers for independent test data on assembly deta

ALTERNATE DEFINITION FOR TYPE XX1.1 Glass mat gypsum substrate, type X (special fire-resistant) designates glass mat gypsum substrate providing a greater fireresistance than regular glass mat gypsum substrate of

Type X (special fire-resistant) glass mat gypsumsubstrate, when tested in accordance with Test Methods E119, shall provide the following minimum fire resistance ratings for theassemblies described:X1.1.1 One hour for a 58 in. 15.9 mm thickness applied to a partition in a single

32、layer application on each side of 358 in. 92mm deep non-loadbearing galvanized steel studs complying with Specification C645 spaced 24 in. 610 mm on center. The 58in. 15.9 mm thick glass mat gypsum substrate 48 in. 1220 mm wide shall be attached using 1 in. 25 mm long drywall screwsspaced 8 in. 203

33、mm on center along the edges and ends, and 12 in. 305 mm along intermediate studs. All joints shall beoriented parallel to and located over studs and staggered on opposite sides of the assembly; andX1.1.2 Two hours for a 12 in. 12.7 mm thickness applied to a partition in a double layer application o

34、n each side of 212 in. 64mm deep non-loadbearing galvanized steel studs complying with Specification C645 spaced 24 in. 610 mm on center. The baselayer 48 in. 1220 mm wide shall be attached using 1 in. 25 mm long drywall screws spaced 12 in. 305 mm on center alongsubstrate edges, ends and along inte

35、rmediate studs. Joints shall be oriented parallel to and located over studs and staggered onopposite sides of the assembly. The face layer 48 in. 1220 mm wide shall be attached using 158 in. 41 mm long drywall screwsspaced 12 in. 305 mm along substrate edges, ends and along intermediate studs. Joint
