Terminology3.1 DefinitionsDefinitions shall be in accordance

6、withTerminology C11.4. Sampling4.1 When specified by the purchase agreement, samples ofgypsum panel products shall be taken at the place of manufac-ture or at the destination. If the samples are taken at thedestination, such samples shall be taken within 24 h of thereceipt of the material.4.2 At lea

7、st 0.25 % of the number of gypsum panel productsin a shipment, but not less than three gypsum panel products,shall be so selected as to be representative of the shipment andshall constitute a sample for the purpose of tests by thepurchaser or user.5. Inspection5.1 Inspection of the gypsum panel prod

8、ucts shall be agreedupon between the purchaser and the producer or supplier aspart of the purchase agreement.6. Rejection6.1 Rejection of gypsum panel products that fails to con-form to the requirements of the specification shall be reportedto the producer or supplier promptly and in writing. The no

9、ticeof rejection shall contain a statement documenting how thegypsum panel products has failed to conform to the require-ments of the specification.7. Certification7.1 When specified in the purchase agreement, a producersor suppliers report shall be furnished at the time of shipmentcertifying that t

10、he product is in compliance with the ASTMspecification referencing this specification.8. Packaging and Marking8.1 Each gypsum panel product or package shall havelegibly marked thereon the following: the thickness, the nameof the producer or supplier, the brand name, if any, and theASTM specification

11、 for the product.8.2 In addition to the marking described in 8.1, gypsumboard manufactured to Specification C1396/C1396M shall bemarked as described in Annex A1.8.3 Single, unbound panels of gypsum board manufacturedto Specification C1396/C1396M that are packaged in multi-panel units shall be permit

12、ted to be marked as a palletizedpackaging unit. Shipping, Handling, and Storage9.1 Gypsum panel products shall be shipped so as to be keptdry.9.2 Gypsum

16、panel products shall be stored so as to be keptdry, preferably inside a building. Gypsum panel products shallbe neatly stacked flat with care taken to prevent sagging ordamage to edges, ends, and surfaces.9.3 Where necessary to store gypsum panel productsoutside, it shall be stacked flat, off the gr

17、ound, supported on alevel platform, and fully protected from weather and directsunlight exposure.10. 18、ypsum board manufacturedto Specification C1396/C1396M shall have the followinginformation legibly printed on the back surface:A1.1.1 The name of the manufacturing company or aunique alpha code of not less than three letters identifying themanufacturer of the gypsum board.A1.1.2 A unique alpha or num

19、eric code identifying themanufacturing facility and the production line.A1.1.3 Acode identifying the date and time of manufacture.A1.1.4 The three-letter alpha code as designated in ISO3166-1 identifying the country of manufacture.A1.2 The printed information described in A1.1 shall be:A1.2.1 One or

20、 more lines oriented in the machine direction,parallel to one edge of the sheet.A1.2.2 Reproduced in its entirety at an interval of not morethan 6 ft (1800 mm) on center.A1.2.3 Placed not less than 1 in.
