Terminology3.1 For definitions of terms related to this specification, seeTerminology C51.3.2 Definitions of Terms Specific to This Standard:3.2.1 hydrated hydraulic lime, nthe product resultingfrom the slaking of hydraulic quicklime generally to a powder,without any
10、addition, and with or without grinding. It has theproperty of setting and hardening under water and by reactionof carbon dioxide from the air. The hydraulic properties of thismaterial comes only from the composition of the raw materials.3.2.2 hydraulic quicklime, na cementitious product ob-tained by
11、 calcining argillaceous or siliceous limestone, or amixture of similar composition to form sufficient free lime topermit hydration by slaking.3.2.3 reworkability, nthe ability of a material which hassetting and hardening properties to be remixed after a givenperiod without significantly compromising
12、 the final hardenedproperties of the material.3.2.4 period of reworkabilitythe length of time a materialcan be reworked after initial mixing; it shall be expressed inhours.NOTE 1Hydrated hydraulic limes have a long working time lasting upto 24 h. 18、paste mixed to normal consistency shallnot develop an initial set in less than2hasdetermined by theVicat needle method (see 11.4). Final set shall be attainedwithin 48 h at 100 % RH.7. Reworkability7.1 Test for reworkability as described in section 11.7.1. Theaverage compressive strength value of th
19、e second set of cubes(set B) shall not be less than 30 % of the first set (set A).8. Soundness8.1 The samples when made, stored, and autoclaved asdescribed in 11.5 shall not have an expansion of more than1.0 %.9. Compressive Strength9.1 The average compressive strength of at least three50-mm 2-in. c
20、ubes, made, stored, and tested in accordancewith 11.6, shall be not less than 1.7 N/mm2250 psi and nomore than 10.3 N/mm21500 psi at the age of 28 days.9.2 The producer shall state the compressive strength, whentested in accordance with 11.6, at the age of 28 days.9.3 The product shall be reworkable
21、 at 24 h as tested inaccordance with 11.7.NOTE 2For quality control convenience, compressive strengths aretested at 28 days. Hydrated hydraulic limes will gain considerably instrength over time (up to 90 % of final strength being realized at 12months).10. Sampling10.1 Each sample selected for purpos
22、e of tests shall weighat least 2.3 kg 5 lb and shall represent not more than 22 680kg 50 000 lb. If only one sample is taken, it shall weigh atleast 4.5 kg 10 lb.10.2 The sample shall be given a preliminary sieving bybeing passed through a 850-m No. 20 sieve in order tothoroughly mix the sample and
23、break up lumps.10.3 Samples shall be shipped and stored in airtight, mois-tureproof containers.10.4 The sampling, inspection, rejection, retesting, packag-ing, and marking shall be conducted in accordance withPractice C50.11. Test Methods:11.1 Chemical Analysis:11.1.1 Analyses for chemical compositi
24、on shall be carriedout in accordance with Test Methods C25.11.2 Fineness:11.2.1 Wet sieve testing should be determined by TestMethods C110 paragraph 15.4.11.3 Normal Consistency:11.3.1 Determine normal consistency by the Vicat apparatusin accordance with Test Method C187.11.4 Time of Setting:11.4.1
25、Determine time of setting by the Vicat needle methodin accordance with Test Method C191. The test will be done ona sample kept at 100 % RH. It will only be removed formeasuring.11.5 Autoclave Expansion:11.5.1 Determine autoclave expansion in accordance withTest Methods C110 paragraph 9.3, with the f
26、ollowing modifi-cations:11.5.1.1 Weigh 25 6 0.1 g of HHL. Add 3 6 1 ml of waterto the weighed sample and mix by hand until wetted. If thebalance allows it, work directly in the specimen mold. If this isnot possible, work in an intermediate container and transfer themixture to the specimen mold in as

Press to 5.0 6 1.5 N/mm2725 6 218 psi for 10 sand demold specimen and autoclave as described.11.6 Compressive Strength:11.6.1 Apparatus:11.6.1.1 Scales and Weights, Sieves, Glass Graduates,Specimen Molds, Tamper, Trowel, and Testing Machine,inaccordance with Test Method
28、 C109/C109M.11.6.1.2 Flow Table, conforming to the requirements ofSpecification C230/C230M.11.6.1.3 Mixing Apparatus, conforming to the requirementsof Practice C305.11.6.2 Standard SandUse 2030 sand meeting the re-quirements of Specification C778.11.6.3 Proportions for Standard Mortar The mortar sha
29、llconsist of 1 part of hydrated hydraulic lime to 3 parts ofSpecification C778 sand, by weight. The quantity of watermeasured in millilitres shall be such as to produce a flow of 100to 115 % as determined by the flow table in 11.6.5.NOTE 3This proportion is by weight and differs from SpecificationC2
30、70, which is by volume.11.6.4 Preparation of Standard Mortar Mix the mortar inaccordance with Section 7 of Practice C305, using 500 g ofhydrated hydraulic lime and 1500 g of Specification C778 sandwith the necessary water to give the desired flow.11.6.5 Determination of FlowDetermine the flow in ac-
31、cordance with Section 8.3 of Test Method C109/C109M.11.6.6 Molding of Test Specimens:11.6.6.1 Prepare molds in accordance with Section 9 of TestMethod C109/C109M.11.6.6.2 The temperature of the air in the vicinity of themixing slab and of the dry materials, molds, base plates, andmixing bowl, shall
32、be maintained between 20 and 27.5 C 68and 81.5 F. The temperature of the mixing water, moist closetor moist room, and water in the storage tank shall not varyfrom 23 C 73.4 F by more than 6 1.7 C 6 3 F. TheC141/C141M 092moist closet or moist room shall be so constructed as to providestorage faciliti
33、es for test specimens at a relative humidity of notless than 90 %.11.6.6.3 Mold test specimens in accordance with 10.4 ofTest Method C109/C109M.11.6.7 Storage of Test SpecimensKeep all test specimens,immediately after molding, in the molds on plane plates in adamp closet, maintained at a relative hu
34、midity of 90 % ormore, for from 48 to 52 h in such a manner that the uppersurfaces are exposed to the moist air. Then remove thespecimens from the molds and maintain them at a relativehumidity of not less than 90% until the 28 day tests areperformed.11.6.8 Testing of Specimens:11.6.8.1 Test the spec
35、imens for 28-day strengths after re-moval from storage as described in 11.6.7.11.6.8.2 The remainder of the testing procedure shall be inaccordance with 8.6 and Section 9 of Test Method C109/C109M.11.6.9 Faulty SpecimensSpecimens that are manifestlyfaulty or that give strengths differing by more tha
36、n 15 % fromthe average value of all test specimens made from the samesample and tested at the same period, shall not be considered indetermining the compressive strength.11.7 Reworkability: Testing of Specimen:11.7.1 Prepare a mortar mix in accordance with 11.6.4 insufficient amount to be able to fi
37、ll two sets of three 2-in. cubes.Cut the mix in half, use first half to prepare a first set of cubes(set A). Store second half in a hermetic container and let restfor 24 (61) h. Once waiting time is achieved, mix the mortarof the second set to achieve required flow as 11.6.5 and preparea second set
38、of three cubes (set B). Store all cubes as describedin 11.6.7. Measure compressive strength of both sets at 28 daysof age starting with first mixing time as per 11.6.12. Storage12.1 The hydrated hydraulic lime shall be stored in such amanner as to permit easy access for proper inspection andidentifi
39、cation of each shipment, and in a suitable weathertightbuilding that will protect the hydrated hydraulic lime fromdamage.13. Inspection13.1 Every producer shall provide the purchaser with theopportunity to sample and inspect the material either at theplace of manufacture or at the destination, as ma
40、y be specifiedby the purchaser.14. Rejection14.1 ProductThe hydrated hydraulic lime may be rejectedif it fails to meet any of the requirements of this specification.At least 31 days shall be allowed for completion of the 28-daytest.14.2 PackagingPackages varying more than 10 % fromthe weight marked
41、thereon may be rejected, and if the averageweight of packages in any shipment, as shown by weighing 50packages taken at random, is less than the weight markedthereon, the entire shipment may be rejected.15. Packaging and Marking15.1 The hydrated hydraulic lime shall be delivered insuitable container
42、s with the brand and name of the manufac-turer and the net weight plainly marked thereon. All packagesshall be in good condition at the time of inspection.16.
