8、t be exact equivalents; therefore, eachsystem shall be used independently of the other. Combiningvalues from the two systems may result in non-conformancewith the standard. Ingredients5.1 The cement covered by this specification

20、 shall containno ingredients except as follows:5.1.1 Portland cement clinker.5.1.2 Water or calcium sulfate, or both. The amounts shallbe such that the limits shown in Table 1 for sulfur trioxide andloss-on-ignition are not exceeded.5.1.3 Limestone. The amount shall not be more than 5.0 %by mass suc

21、h that the chemical and physical requirements ofthis standard are met (See Note 3). The limestone, defined inTerminology C51, shall be naturally occurring and consist ofat least 70 % by mass of one or more of the mineral forms ofcalcium carbonate.NOTE 3The standard permits up to 5 % by mass of the f

22、inal cementproduct to be naturally occurring, finely ground limestone, but does notrequire that limestone be added to the cement. Cement without groundlimestone can be specified in the contract or order.5.1.4 Inorganic processing additions. The amount shall benot more than 5.0 % by mass of cement. N

23、ot more than oneinorganic processing addition shall be used at a time. Foramounts greater than 1.0 %, they shall have been shown tomeet the requirements of Specification C 465 for the inorganicprocessing addition in the amount used or greater. If aninorganic processing addition is used, the manufact

24、urer shallreport the amount (or range) used, expressed as a percentage ofcement mass, along with the oxide composition of the process-ing addition.5.1.5 Organic Processing additions. They shall have beenshown to meet the requirements of Specification C 465 in theamounts used or greater and the total

25、 amount of organicprocessing additions used shall not exceed 1.0 % by mass ofcement.5.1.6 Air-entraining addition (for air-entraining portlandcement only). Test MethodC 563 is one of several methods a manufacturer can use to evaluate theeffect of sulfate content on cement characteristics. Whenever SO3contentof a cement excee

34、ds Table 1 limits, Test Method C 1038 results provideevidence that excessive expansion does not occur at this higher sulfatecontent.7. Physical Properties7.1 Portland cement of each of the ten types shown inSection 1 shall conform to the respective standard physicalrequirements prescribed in Table 3

35、. In addition, optionalphysical requirements are shown in Table 4.8. Sampling8.1 When the purchaser desires that the cement be sampledand tested to verify compliance with this specification, performsampling and testing in accordance with Practice C 183.8.2 Practice C 183 is not designed for manufact

Inspection10.1 Inspection of the material shall be made as agreed uponbetween the purchaser and the seller as

Rejection11.1 The cement shall be rejected if it fails to meet any ofthe requirements of this specification.11.2 At the option of the purchaser, retest, before using,cement remaining in bulk storage for more than 6 months orcement in bags in local storage in the cus

40、tody of a vendor formore than 3 months after completion of tests and reject thecement if it fails to conform to any of the requirements of thisspecification. Cement so rejected shall be the responsibility ofthe owner of record at the time of resampling for retest.11.3 Packages shall identify the mas

41、s contained as netweight.At the option of the purchaser, packages more than 2 %below the mass marked thereon shall be rejected and if theaverage mass of packages in any shipment, as shown bydetermining the mass of 50 packages selected at random, is lessthan that marked on the packages, the entire sh

42、ipment shall berejected.12. Manufacturers Statement12.1 At the request of the purchaser, the manufacturer shallstate in writing the nature, amount, and identity of anyair-entraining addition and of any processing addition used,and also, if requested, shall supply test data showing compli-ance of suc

43、h air-entraining addition with Specification C 226and of such processing addition with Specification C 465.12.2 When limestone is used, the manufacturer shall state inwriting the amount thereof and, if requested by the purchaser,shall supply comparative test data on chemical and physicalproperties o
