Scope1.1 This specification covers solid, unreinforced masonryunits manufactured from autoclaved aerated concrete (AAC), acementitio

6、1 autoclaved aerated concrete (AAC), nlow-densitycementitious product of calcium silicate hydrates in which thelow density is obtained by the formation of macroscopic airbubbles, mainly by chemical reactions within the mass duringthe liquid or plastic phase. The air bubbles are uniformlydistributed

7、and are retained in the matrix on setting, hardening,and subsequent high-pressure steam curing, to produce acellular structure. Material specifications for this product areprescribed in Specification C1693.4. Classification4.1 AAC masonry units manufactured in accordance withthis specification shall

8、 be classified according to their strengthclass.5. Materials and Manufacture5.1 AAC masonry units manufactured in accordance withthis specification shall be composed entirely of AAC materialconforming to Specification C1693.6. Physical Requirements6.1 Compressive StrengthThe compressive strength of

9、theunits shall be determined according to Specification C1693 andshall conform to the requirements of Specification C1693 forthe strength class in which the units are classified.6.2 Dry Bulk DensityThe dry bulk density shall be deter-mined according to Specification C1693 and shall conform tothe req

10、uirements of Specification C1693 for the strength classin which the units are classified.6.3 Drying ShrinkageThe drying shrinkage shall be de-termined in accordance with Specification C1693 and shallconform to the requirements of Specification C1693 for thestrength class in which the units are speci

11、fied.7. Dimensions and Permissible Variations7.1 The specified dimensions of the units shall be estab-lished by the AAC unit manufacturer.7.2 No overall unit dimension (width, height, or length)shall differ by more than18 in. (3 mm) from the correspondingspecified dimension8. Visual Inspection8.1 Al

12、l units shall be sound and free of defects that wouldinterfere with the proper placing of the unit or impair thestrength or permanence of the construction. Minor imperfec-tions incidental to the usual methods of manufacture, orresulting from customary methods of handling in shipment anddelivery, sha

Sampling and Testing9.1 The purchaser or the authorized representative shall beaccorded proper facilities to inspect and sample the units at theplace of manufacture from the lots ready for delivery.10. Rejection and Rehear

16、ing10.1 If the shipment fails to conform to the specific require-ments, the manufacture shall be permitted to sort it, and newspecimens shall be selected by the purchaser from the retainedlot and tested. If the second set of specimens fails to conformto the test requirements, the entire lot shall be

17、 rejected.NOTE 1Unless otherwise specified in the purchase order, the cost oftests is typically borne as follows: If the results of the tests show that theunits do not conform to the requirements of this specification, the cost istypically borne by the seller. If the results of the tests show that t
