Scope*1.1 This practice covers procedures for fabricating test specimens in the laboratory or field using a r

3、epresentative sample offresh self-consolidating concrete (SCC). This practice is applicable to SCC with a nominal maximum aggregate size up to 25 mm1 in. and a slump flow of 500 mm 20 in. or greater. If the slump flow is less than 500 mm 20 in. follow the fabricationprocedures described in the stand

4、ard for which the test specimen is required.1.2 The values stated in either SI units or inch-pound units are to be regarded separately as standard. The values stated in eachsystem may not be exact equivalents; therefore, each system shall be used independently of the other. Combining values from the

5、two systems may result in non-conformance with the standard.1.3 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. Significance and Use4.1 Existing practices and test methods for fabricating fresh conc

10、rete test specimens are not suited to SCC. This practiceprovides requirements and procedures for fabricating test specimens with SCC having a slump flow of 500 mm 20 in. or greater.5. Apparatus5.1 Specimen ContainerMolds, measures, measuring bowls, and containers used for fabricating test specimens

United States15.2 Sample ReceptacleApan or wheelbarrow that is water-tight, has a nonabsorbent surface, and is large enough to allow bothremixing of the entire sample and retain a volume of concrete sufficient to fill all necessary the specimen containers.container.5.3 Pouring Vessel for SCCA wa

17、ter-tight container having a size large enough so each amount of concrete obtained from thesampling receptacle is representative and small enough so concrete is volume such that concrete is not spilled during placementin the specimen container.NOTE 1A pouring vessel with a pouring lip is useful in r

18、educing the probability of concrete spilling while filling the specimen container.5.4 SmallOther ToolsItems such as shovels and scoops capable of remixing the concrete in the sample receptacle, filling thepouring vessel, or both.6. Sampling Concrete6.1 The sample of concrete from which test specimen

19、s are to be fabricated shall be representative of the entire batch. The sampleshall be obtained Obtain a sample of freshly mixed self-consolidating concrete in accordance with Practice C172, or PracticeC192/C192M., and place it in the sample receptacle.7. Procedure7.1 Measure and record the slump fl

20、ow of the sampled concrete in accordance with Test Method C1611/C1611M. For concretewith a slump flow of 500 mm 20 in. or greater, fabricate test specimens as follows.7.2 Identify, position, and prepare the specimen container, and any related equipment, as described in the practice or test methodfor

21、 which the test specimen is required.7.3 Fill Pouring VesselFill Immediately fill the pouring vessel with a representative portion of SCC from the samplereceptacle, either by passing the pouring vessel through the SCCconcrete or by scooping concrete into the vessel.7.4 Fill the specimen container wi

22、th SCC by tilting and then moving the pouring vessel around the perimeter of the containerto allow the SCC to flow into the container and to ensure an even distribution of concrete.7.4 Filling ProcedureDuring the filling process, position the Immediately fill the specimen container with SCC by tilti

23、ng thepouring vessel. Position the lowest point on the rim of the pouring vessel no more than 125 mm 5 in. above the top of thecontainer. If necessary, repeat the procedures inEnsure an even distribution of concrete, 7.3 and 7.4, without rodding the concreteor tapping the sides of the specimen conta

24、iner, until the container is overfilled slightly above its rim.while filling the container.7.5 If necessary, repeat the procedures in 7.3 and 7.4 until the specimen container is filled slightly above its rim.7.6 After filling, follow all subsequent specimen fabrication and testing procedures as spec
