Significance and Use4.1 General:4.1.1 Non metallic reinforced Portland Cement Based Plas-ter are vertically applied exterior wall claddings that may besubject to variety of conditions over the claddings service life.The series of tests

9、 described in this standard evaluates perfor-mance under a variety of test conditions and exposures. Anygiven project may not be subject to all of the test conditionsdescribed herein and all of the test methods may not evaluateall exposures for a given project.4.2 Transverse Load:4.2.1 This test det

10、ermines the ultimate wind load resistanceof the wall assembly including influence of the framing,sheathing, and means of attachment.4.3 Vertical Load:4.3.1 The weight and attachment mechanism of PortlandCement Based Plaster results in a vertical load transfer to theplaster base. This test method det

11、ermines the ultimate verticalload capacity of the cladding assembly based on taking thespecimen to failure.4.4 Embedment:4.4.1 Plaster bases serve as a key, reinforcement and attach-ment mechanism for Portland Cement Based Plaster. Thethickness, profile, and material properties of the plaster basesm

12、ust be such that it is adequately embedded in the PortlandCement Based Plaster. This can be accomplished through useof a self furred non metallic plaster base or other means suchas furring strips. This test procedure determines the effective-ness of the furring mechanism to ensure that the minimumem

13、bedment is obtained.4.5 Fastener Pull Through Resistance:1These test methods are under the jurisdiction of ASTM Committee C11 onGypsum and Related Building Materials and Systems and is the direct responsibilityof Subcommittee C11.02 on Specifications and Test Methods for Accessories andRelated Produ

16、sistance (Glass Fiber Lath Only):4.6.1 Per E2098.5. Sampling, Test Specimens, and Test Units5.1 The number, size and configuration of the test speci-mens shall be as per each test procedure with the exception ofTransverse Load tests which shall incorporate wood or steelframing as determined by the u

17、ser. Samples shall be represen-tative of standard products and construction methods.6. Test Specimens6.1 Transverse Load:6.1.1 Construct three test specimens. Test specimen sizeshall be minimum 4 ft (1.2 m) by 8 ft (2.4 m) and constructedrepresentative of end use conditions. Framing members shallbe

18、wood or steel as determined by the user. C926 PortlandCement Based Plaster shall be mixed and applied in theconfiguration of the test specimen.6.2 Vertical Load:6.2.1 Construct three test frames measuring 12 inch (305mm) by 20 inch (508 mm) using nominal 2 inch (50 mm) by4 inch (100 mm) wood lumber

19、with specific gravity of 0.42.The test frame shall have one intermediate stud with top andbottom plates and sheathed one side with12 inch (13 mm) thickgypsum sheathing. Attach studs to plates using 2 16d (312 inch(89 mm) length) nails and sheathing to framing using 6d (2inch length) common nails or

20、equal fastened 8 inches (200mm) on center. A test panel shall be prepared measuring 6inches (152 mm) high by 16 inches (406 mm) wide andconsisting of a water-resistive barrier (provided to preventadhesion of the test panel to the test frame); non metallicplaster base, which is attached through the w

21、ater-resistivebarrier to the intermediate framing member with one fastener;and apply Portland Cement Based Plaster per C926. Thesamples shall be cured a minimum of 28 days. Refer to Fig. 1FIG. 1 Test AssemblyC1764 122for an illustration of the test assembly.6.3 Embedment:6.3.1 Construct one test fra

22、me using nominal 2 inch (50mm) by 4 inch (100 mm) wood lumber with specific gravity of0.42 unless specified otherwise by the manufacturer. The testframe shall be 48 inches (1.2 m) wide and high studs spaced 16inches (406 mm) on center, wood plates top and bottom andsheathed with minimum12 inch (13 m

23、m) thick wood basedsheathing. Two layers of a water resistive barrier shall beattached to the sheathing using staples 12 inches (305 mm) oncenter around the panel perimeter. A plaster stop or groundsshall be fastened around the panel perimeter. Apply the nonmetallic lath to the sample with one horiz

24、ontal lap and fastenedto the stud per the manufacturers recommendations. Apply thescratch and brown Portland Cement Based Plaster per C926.6.4 Fastener Pull Through Resistance:6.4.1 Construct five test frames using nominal 2 inch (50mm) by 4 inch (100 mm) wood framing with specific gravityof 0.42 an

25、d any other types of framing as specified by the nonmetallic lath manufacturer. The test frame shall be 12 inches(305 mm) wide and sufficient height to permit placement ofthree or more lath fasteners. One stud centered in the panel andsheathed one side with12 inch (13 mm) thick gypsumsheathing. Two

26、layers of a water resistive barrier shall beattached to the sheathing using staples 12 inches (305 mm) oncenter around the panel perimeter. A plaster stop or groundsshall be fastened around the panel perimeter. Apply the lath tothe sample with one horizontal lap and fastened to the stud perthe manuf

27、acturers recommendations. Apply the Portland Ce-ment Based Plaster per C926. Allow the stucco to cure andremove the sheathing that exists between the wood framing.6.5 Alkali Resistance (Glass Fiber Lath Only):6.5.1 Ten specimens in the warp and ten specimens in theweft directions should be cut from

28、the roll glass fiber lath andlabeled as control specimens. Ten specimens in the warp andten specimens in the weft directions should be cut from the rollglass fiber lath and labeled as conditioned specimens. Allspecimens were 2 (50 mm) inch wide by 12 (305 mm) inchlong.7. Apparatus7.1 The description

29、 of apparatus in this section is general innature consequently any set up capable of performing the testis acceptable.7.2 Transverse Load:7.2.1 The apparatus shall be capable of subjecting specimenuniformly to test conditions described in Test Method E330Procedure A.7.3 Vertical Load:7.3.1 Universal

30、 testing machine with capabilities to accom-modate section 9.2.1.7.4 Fastener Pull Through Resistance:7.4.1 Universal testing machine with capabilities to accom-modate section 9.4.1.7.5 Alkali Resistance (Glass Fiber Lath Only):7.5.1 The apparatus shall be capable of subjecting specimenuniformly to

34、ord deflection, resultsand failure mechanism.9.3 Embedment:9.3.1 Cut the test panel diagonally from the intersection ofthe top stud to the intersection of the bottom stud such that thecross section of the Portland Cement Plaster is visible. Measureeach strand with respect to its embedment in the Por

35、tlandCement Plaster. Make all from the back plane of the nonmetallic lath to the back plane of the plaster.9.4 Fastener Pull Through:9.4.1 Place center stud in a rigid jig to assure each fastenerwill receive equivalent loads. Apply load in tension by pullingthe center stud away from the plaster surf

36、ace uniformly usinga universal testing machine, at a rate of two inches/minute untilfailure. Record results and failure mechanism.9.5 Alkali Resistance (Glass Fiber Lath Only):9.5.1 In accordance with Test Method E2098.10. Report10.1 Reports shall include the following information:10.1.1 Name, addre

37、ss and telephone number of the labora-tory.10.1.2 Date of test, date of report, and test report identifi-cation number.10.1.3 Reference to the test standard including any devia-tions.10.1.4 Description and identification of the non metallic lathsample including manufacturer, type and thickness of th
