Significance and Use4.1 General:4.1.1 Non metallic reinforced Portland Cement Based Plas-ter are vertically applied exterior wall claddings that may besubject to var
10、iety of conditions over the claddings service life.The series of tests described in this standard evaluates perfor-mance under a variety of test conditions and exposures. Anygiven project may not be subject to all of the test conditionsdescribed herein and all of the test methods may not evaluateall
11、 exposures for a given project.4.2 Transverse Load:4.2.1 This test determines the ultimate wind load resistanceof the wall assembly including influence of the framing,sheathing, and means of attachment.4.3 Vertical Load:4.3.1 The weight and attachment mechanism of PortlandCement Based Plaster result
12、s in a vertical load transfer to theplaster base. This test method determines the ultimate verticalload capacity of the cladding assembly based on taking thespecimen to failure.4.4 Embedment:4.4.1 Plaster bases serve as a key, reinforcement and attach-ment mechanism for Portland Cement Based Plaster
13、. Thethickness, profile, and material properties of the plaster basesmust be such that it is adequately embedded in the PortlandCement Based Plaster. 19、 configuration of the test speci-mens shall be as per each test procedure with the exception ofTransverse Load tests which shall incorporate wood or steelframing as determined by the user. Samples shall be represen-tative of standard products and construction methods.6. Test Specimens6.1 Transverse
20、Load:6.1.1 Construct three test specimens. Test specimen sizeshall be minimum 4 by 8 ft (1.2 by 2.4 m) and constructedrepresentative of end use conditions. Framing members shallbe wood or steel as determined by the user. C926 PortlandCement Based Plaster shall be mixed and applied in theconfiguratio
21、n of the test specimen.6.2 Vertical Load:6.2.1 Construct three test frames measuring 12 by 20 in.(305 by 508 mm) using nominal 2 by 4 in. (50 by 100 mm)wood lumber with specific gravity of 0.42. The test frame shallhave one intermediate stud with top and bottom plates andsheathed one side with12 in.
22、 (13 mm) thick gypsum sheathing.Attach studs to plates using 2 16d (312 in. (89 mm) length)nails and sheathing to framing using 6d (2 in. length) commonnails or equal fastened 8 in. (200 mm) on center. A test panelshall be prepared measuring 6 in. (152 mm) high by 16 in. (406mm) wide and consisting
23、of a water-resistive barrier (providedto prevent adhesion of the test panel to the test frame); nonmetallic plaster base, which is attached through the water-resistive barrier to the intermediate framing member with onefastener; and apply Portland Cement Based Plaster per C926.The samples shall be c
24、ured a minimum of 28 days. Refer toFig. 1 for an illustration of the test assembly.6.3 Embedment:6.3.1 Construct one test frame using nominal 2 by 4 in. (50by 100 mm) wood lumber with specific gravity of 0.42 unlessspecified otherwise by the manufacturer. The test frame shallbe 48 in. (1.2 m) wide a
25、nd high studs spaced 16 in. (406 mm)on center, wood plates top and bottom and sheathed withminimum12 in. (13 mm) thick wood based sheathing. Twolayers of a water resistive barrier shall be attached to thesheathing using staples 12 in. (305 mm) on center around thepanel perimeter. A plaster stop or g
26、rounds shall be fastenedaround the panel perimeter. Apply the non metallic lath to thesample with one horizontal lap and fastened to the stud per themanufacturers recommendations. Apply the scratch and brownPortland Cement Based Plaster per C926.6.4 Fastener Pull Through Resistance:6.4.1 Construct f
27、ive test frames using nominal 2 by 4 in. (50by 100 mm) wood framing with specific gravity of 0.42 andany other types of framing as specified by the non metallic lathmanufacturer. The test frame shall be 12 in. (305 mm) wide andsufficient height to permit placement of three or more lathfasteners. One
28、 stud centered in the panel and sheathed one sidewith12 in. (13 mm) thick gypsum sheathing. Two layers of awater resistive barrier shall be attached to the sheathing usingstaples 12 in. (305 mm) on center around the panel perimeter.A plaster stop or grounds shall be fastened around the panelperimete
29、r. Apply the lath to the sample with one horizontal lapand fastened to the stud per the manufacturers recommenda-tions. Apply the Portland Cement Based Plaster per C926.Allow the stucco to cure and remove the sheathing that existsbetween the wood framing.6.5 Alkali Resistance (Glass Fiber Lath Only)
30、:6.5.1 Ten specimens in the warp and ten specimens in theweft directions should be cut from the roll glass fiber lath andlabeled as control specimens. Ten specimens in the warp andten specimens in the weft directions should be cut from the rollglass fiber lath and labeled as conditioned specimens. A

38、gid jig to assure each fastenerwill receive equivalent loads. Apply load in tension by pullingthe center stud away from the plaster surface uniformly usinga universal testing machine, at a rate of two inches/minute untilfailure.
