Physical Requirements5.1 At the time of delivery to the purchaser, units shallconform to the physical requirements prescri
21、bed in Table 1.5.2 At the time of delivery to the purchaser, the averagetotal linear drying shrinkage of the three units tested shall notexceed 0.065 % when tested in accordance with 8.3.NOTE 4The purchaser is the public body or authority, association,corporation, partnership, or individual entering
22、 into a contract or agree-ment to purchase or install, or both, adhered concrete masonry units. Thetime of delivery to the purchaser is FOB plant when the purchaser or thepurchasers agent transports the adhered concrete masonry units, or at thetime unloaded at the worksite if the manufacturer or the
23、 manufacturersagent transports the adhered concrete masonry units.6. Dimensions, Weights, and Areas6.1 No overall dimension (width, height, and length) shalldiffer by more than 618 in. (3.2 mm) from the specifiedstandard dimensions.6.1.1 For those units with faces altered for aestheticpurposes, over
24、all dimensional tolerances apply only to thosedimensions not affected by the altering.NOTE 5For such units, dimensions will vary. Consult with suppliers todetermine achievable dimensional tolerances.6.2 Units shall have an average minimum thickness of 0.75in. (19 mm).6.3 The specified thickness of e
25、ach unit shall not exceed amaximum average thickness of 2.625 in. (66.7 mm).6.4 Units shall not exceed 36 in. (915 mm) in any facedimension.6.5 Units shall not exceed more than 5 ft2(0.46 m2) in totalface area.6.6 The average weight per square foot of each unit shall notexceed 15 lb/ft2(73 kg/m2). T
26、he weight per square foot shall bedetermined by multiplying the unit oven-dry density by the unitaverage thickness. Specification C1670/C1670M, Annex 1outlines the procedure for calculating the average thickness ofmasonry veneer.7. Finish and Appearance7.1 No more than5%oftheunits in the shipment sh
27、allexhibit one or more of the characteristics described in 7.1.1through 7.1.4 and 7.2.7.1.1 Units with dimensions not meeting the requirementsof 6.1.7.1.2 Units with finished face(s) containing chips larger than1 in. (25.4 mm) in any direction.7.1.3 Units with finished face(s) containing cracks wide
28、rthan 0.02 in. (0.5 mm) and longer than 25 % of the nominalheight of the unit.7.1.4 Units that are broken.7.2 Where units are to be used in exposed wall construction,the face or faces that are to be exposed shall not show chips orcracks, not otherwise permitted in 7.1.2 and 7.1.3, or otherimperfecti
29、ons when viewed from a distance of not less than 20ft (6.1 m) under diffused lighting.7.3 The color and texture of units shall be specified by thepurchaser. The finished surfaces that will be exposed in placeshall conform to an approved sample, consisting of not lessthan four units, representing the

Methods of Sampling and Testing8.1 The purchaser or authorized representative shall beaccorded proper facilities to inspect and sample the adheredconcrete masonry units at the place of manufacture from thelots ready for delivery.8.2 Compressive strength, absor

Compl
36、iance9.1 If a sample fails to conform to the specified physicalrequirements, the manufacturer shall be permitted to removeunits from the shipment. A new sample shall be selected by thepurchaser from remaining units from the shipment with asimilar configuration and dimension and tested at the expense
37、of the manufacturer. If the second sample meets the specifiedphysical requirements, the remaining portion of the shipmentrepresented by the sample meets the specified physical require-ments. If the second sample fails to meet the specified physicalrequirements, the remaining portion of the shipment
38、repre-sented by the sample fails to meet the specified physicalrequirements.NOTE 6Unless otherwise specified in the purchase order, the costs oftests is typically borne as follows: (1) if the results of the tests show thatthe units do not conform to the requirements of this specification, the costis
