Scope1.1 This classification is limited to silica brick meeting thefollowing requirements:Alumina (Al2O3) content of less than 1.50 %.Titania (TiO2) con

3、tent of less than 0.20 %.Iron oxide (FeO3) content of less than 2.50 %.Calcium oxide (CaO) content of less than 4.00 %.Average modulus of rupture of not less than 500 psi (3.45MPa).1.2 This standard does not purport to address all of thesafety concerns, if any, associated with its use. This classificationpermits those familiar with refractories to predict the refracto-riness of silica brick from their alkali an

7、d alumina contents.4. Basis of Classification4.1 Flux Factor Silica brick are classified on the basis ofimpurities by the use of a “flux factor,” which is equal to thepercent of alumina plus twice the percent of total alkalies.4.2 Types:4.2.1 Type ASilica brick having a flux factor of 0.50 orless.4.

8、2.2 Type BAll other silica brick falling within the scopeof this classification.5. Test Methods5.1 The properties listed in this classification shall bedetermined in accordance with the following ASTM methods:5.1.1 Modulus of RuptureTest Method C133.5.1.2 Chemical AnalysisXRF and ICP.6. 9、ecause of variables resulting from sampling and thelack of satisfactory reproducibility in tests conducted bydifferent laboratories, the material may be resampled andretested when requested by either the manufacturer or thepurchaser. This may apply in instances when the first testresults do not conf

10、orm to the requirements prescribed in thisclassification. The final results to be used shall be the averageof at least two sets of results, each of which has been obtainedby following in detail the specified testing procedures.7.
