Scope1.1 This classification categorizes machine-made refractorybrick defined as chrome, chrome-magnesia, magnesia-c

Its purpose is to describe classes distinguishedby obvious differences in magnesium oxide (MgO) contentexcept for chrome brick.1.2 This standard does not purp

8、ry brick, with the exception of chrome brick, intodistinct classes based on a nominal and minimal value formagnesium oxide content. Chrome brick are treated as aseparate class without reference to magnesium oxide content.Such classes have historically been generally useful in relatingthe defined typ
9、es to specific industrial applications and indeveloping product or purchasing specifications.5. Basis of Classification5.1 Chrome-magnesia, magnesia-chrome, and magnesiabrick are classified by MgO content as shown in Table 1.Chrome brick is not classified by MgO content (see Table 1).6. Test Methods
10、6.1 The determination of MgO on an ignited basis asrequired by this classification shall be determined by a com-bination of X-ray fluorescence (XRF) and inductively coupledplasma (ICP) using standard reference materials (SRM), in-cluding various types of minerals and refractory materialswhich are av
11、ailable from the National Institute of Standardsand Technology and other appropriate sources.7. Retests7.1 Because of variables resulting from sampling and thelack of satisfactory reproducibility in tests conducted bydifferent laboratories, the material may be resampled andretested when requested by
12、 either the manufacturer or thepurchaser. This may apply in instances when the first testresults do not conform to the requirements prescribed in thisclassification. The final results to be used shall be the averageof at least two sets of results, each of which has been obtainedby following in detai
