9、at the university is very comprehensive and Im sure Ill need it when Im a doctor. Books As a medical student, I need to read a lot of books, but I dont only read as part of my studies. I enjoy reading thrillers and detective stories. I find them exciting and a useful way to relax after many hours of
10、 study. I usually get through a book each week. I read my medical books every day, but have to read them more than once to be sure that I have understood everything correctly. My favourite writer is the American novelist, Alex Snow, who writes detective stories set in the poor areas of Los Angeles.
11、His books are full of characters-some good, some bad-who work for the Los Angeles Police Department or who live in the poor areas where the crimes take place. He develops the characters well, including all kinds of details about them. For example, he often includes information from their childhoods,
12、 which helps to explain why they act the way they do. I like to read when Im travelling to or from the university or in a caf6 or bar after classes. I sometimes read a newspaper rather than a book. Many people like to read a newspaper or magazine before they go to bed, but I dont do that. I suppose
