ASTM C686-1990(2007) Standard Test Method for Parting Strength of Mineral Fiber Batt- and Blanket-Type Insulation《矿质纤维绒及毡式绝热材料的分离强度的标准试验方法》.pdf

1、Designation: C 686 90 (Reapproved 2007)Standard Test Method forParting Strength of Mineral Fiber Batt- and Blanket-TypeInsulation1This standard is issued under the fixed designation C 686; the number immediately following the designation indicates the year oforiginal adoption or, in the case of revi

Scope1.1 This test method covers evaluation of strength in tensionon mineral fiber batt- and blanket-type in

3、sulation products. It isuseful for determining the comparative tensile properties ofthese products, specimens of which cannot be held by the moreconventional clamp-type grips. This is a quality controlmethod, and the results should not be used for design purposes. It is not normally used for board-ty

It is theresponsibility of the user of this standard to establish appro-priate safety and health practices and determine the applica-bility of regulatory limitations prior to use.2.

Significance and Use3.1 Tensile strength is a fundamental property associatedwith mineral fiber manufacture since it is influenced by thetype of fiber, the deposition of fiber, the type and the amount ofbonding agent, and the method of curing the resin to form abonded insulation product.

7、 The test is an indication of productintegrity and the ability of the product to be successfullyhandled and applied in the field.4.
