16、of sealant 12.7 mm(12 in.) wide by 12.7 mm (12 in.) thick by 50.8 mm (2 in.) longbetween the parallel 25.4 mm (1 in.) by 76.2 mm (3 in.) longfaces of two similar blocks or plates.7.4 Condition these specimens by allowing them to set for24hat236 2C (73.4 6 3.6F) and 50 6 5 % relativehumidity, then dr
17、ying them in a convection oven for 7 days at50 6 1C (122 6 2F).7.5 Place the specimens in freezer for 24 h at 23 6 3C(10 6 5F). Dislodge spacer bars from sealant, but do notremove spacer bars from assembled specimens.7.6 Remove specimens from the freezer and condition themfor1hat236 2C (73.4 6 3.6F)
18、 and 50 6 5 % relativehumidity.7.7 Place the specimens in a forced-draft oven for 7 days at70 6 2C (158 6 3.6F).7.8 Remove the specimens from the oven. Place them in afreezer for 24 h at 23 6 3C (10 6 5F).7.9 Place the specimens, while frozen, in the grips of theextension machine and extend the join
19、t width from the original12.7 mm (12 in.) to 14.29 mm (916 in.) at 23 6 3C (10 65F) at the rate of 3.18 mm (18 in.)/h. After extension iscompleted, record any initial failure. Then apply appropriatespacers to maintain 14.29 mm (916 in.) thickness, removespecimens with spacers in place from machine a
