Sampling8.1 The test sample shall consist of approximately 1500 mLof grout and shall be representative of the material in the mixer.8.2 Grout proportioned at the mixer from
14、hydraulic ce-ment(s) with or without other materials shall be mixed inaccordance with Specification C937.8.3 Packaged grouts requiring only the addition of water orother fluid shall be mixed in accordance with the manufactur-ers printed recommendations.9. Preparation of Specimen Molds9.1 Prepare the
15、 molds as specified in Test Method C109/C109M.10. Procedure10.1 Determine the consistency of grout as follows:10.1.1 Use the flow cone, Test Method C939, for grout to beused for PA concrete or whenever the consistency is less than35 s.10.1.2 For grouts at consistencies thicker than above, deter-mine
16、 the consistency on the flow table, Test Method C109/C109M, using 5 drops of the table in 3 s. When placing groutin the mold, puddle each layer five times with the gloved finger.10.2 Measure the temperature of the grout.10.3 Mold sets of cube specimens for testing in compres-sion.10.3.1 A three-gang
17、 cube mold shall constitute one test set.Provide at least one test set for each age at which the strengthis to be determined, but not less than two sets.10.3.2 Fill each mold in the set halfway. Puddle each with agloved finger five times to release entrapped air. Fill the moldand puddle again. Bring
18、 the excess grout to the center andfinish the surface by cutting off the excess with the straightedge of a trowel held vertically and drawn across the top of themold with a sawing motion.10.3.3 Place the cover plate over the mold (three-gang),taking care that the grout or loose grains of sand do not
19、 preventseating of the plate.10.3.4 Place a mass of 7 kg (or 15 lb) on each cover plate orfix the cover plates to the molds with C-clamps, fingertightened.11. Storage and Curing11.1 Immediately upon completion of molding:11.1.1 Place laboratory specimens in the moist room andcure in accordance with
20、the applicable portions of Test MethodC109/C109M.11.1.2 Store field specimens and cure in accordance withCuring Cylinders of Practice C31/C31M.11.2 StrippingWith grouts that expand prior to hardening,do not strip molds before age 24 h or final set, whicheveroccurs later.11.2.1 Do not strip molds fro
21、m grouts containing expansive-cement systems before age 3 days.12. Determination of Compressive Strength12.1 Determine the compressive strength at ages 7 and 28days, unless otherwise specified, in accordance with TestMethod C109/C109M.13. Report13.1 The report shall include the following:13.1.1 Iden
22、tification, date of mixing, and whether labora-tory or field tested.13.1.1.1 If field tested, include description of curing proce-dure and temperature.13.1.2 Average compressive strength for each set of groutspecimens to nearest 0.1 MPa (or 10 psi) at 7 and 28 days ofage, unless otherwise specified.
23、14. Precision and Bias14.1 PrecisionThe single-operator coefficient of variationhas been found to be 1.6 %. Therefore, results of two properlyconducted tests by the same operator on the same sample usingproper equipment should not differ from each other by morethan 4.5 % of their average.314.2 BiasN
