It is recommended thatwhenever possible, a sufficient number of tests be made topermit statistical treatment of the test da

In propertiesreflecting differences due to the machine direction of the panel, specimens from each panel shall be selected both with the longdimension parallel to the lo

Moisture Content and Conditioning Requirements6.1 The physical and mechanical properties of buildingpanels depend on the moistu

All specimens within eachtest sample shall be conditioned as required to meet the specifictest objectives.6.3 The foll

37、owing moisture conditioning regimens are com-monly employed with the test procedures of this standard:6.3.1 Dry “As Received”Specimens to be tested “asreceived” shall be tested without supplemental conditioning toalter the moisture content.6.3.2 Dry “Conditioned”Specimens to be tested air-dryshall b

Any computed properties shallbe reported based upon both the pre-conditioned dimensions orweight, or both, and upon the dimensions or weight, or both, after the moisture conditioning t

The conditioning treatment selected for the matchedset shall be based upon the test objec

44、tives.6.6 For all testing within this standard, the moisture condi-tioning method selected and resulting test sample moisturecontents shall be reported.7. Accelerated Aging7.1 Scope and Significance7.1.1 The accelerated aging treatment is one possible con-ditioning treatment (see Section 6) and is u

45、sed to obtain ameasure of the inherent ability of a material to withstand severeexposure conditions and maintain its mechanical and physicalproperties. Appropriate specimens shall be prepared and sub-jected to the six cycles of accelerated aging before the propertyis evaluated. The cycling exposure

46、is a simulated conditiondeveloped to evaluate how a material will stand up under agingconditions.NOTE 5All of the tests listed in this standard may not be required forany specific investigation or specification. Static bending (Section 9),nail-holding (Sections 13-15), and water absorption and thick

47、ness swell-ing (Section 23) tests are usually sufficient to evaluate the resistance of awood-base panel material to aging. In some instances it may be desirableto evaluate the effect of accelerated aging on some other property, including properties outside the scope of this standard.7.2 Test Specimen

48、s7.2.1 The test specimens shall be cut to size for testing anddimensions or weight measured, or both, as specified in thepertinent sections of this standard before being subjected to thecyclic exposure listed in section 7.3. When tests involvingfasteners are made, the fasteners shall be driven prior

49、 to theaging exposure. Corrosion-resistant fasteners shall be usedbecause extractives or other materials present will corrodeordinary steel fasteners.7.3 Accelerated Aging Cycles7.3.1 Subject each specimen to six complete cycles ofaccelerated aging. If the cycle is to be broken, as for aweekend, the break shall be made during the freezing portionof the cycle. Each cycle shall consist of the following:7.3.2 Immersion in water at 120 6 3F (49 6 2C) for 1 h,7.3.3 Exposure to steam and water vapor at 200 6 5F (936 3C) for 3 h,7.3.4 Freezing at 10 6 5F (-12 6 3
