Terminology3.1 DefinitionsFor definitions of terms used in this stan-dard, refer to Terminology D 1711.4. Classification4.1 Four types of paper and paperboard are covered by thisspecification,
6、as shown in Table 1. The material is available insheets, pads, or rolls.5. Ordering Information5.1 Orders shall specify the type, including whether waterfinish or not (see Note 1), nominal thickness, form, width,length (for sheets), nominal outside diameter, and core insidediameter (for rolls).NOTE
7、1Water finish is not available with certain combinations ofKraft type and thickness. In general, water finish is restricted to paper andpaperboard in the higher density ranges, that is, Types III and IV.6. Materials6.1 The material shall be natural unbleached sulfate paper orpaperboard, free of dyes
8、, pigments, fillers, or sizing. It may befurnished either with water-finish or without.7. Detail Requirements7.1 The material shall conform to the chemical, physical,and electrical requirements specified in Tables 1-4, when testedin accordance with the methods prescribed in Section 11.8. Workmanship, Finish, and Appearance9.1 The material shall be uniform in thickness, density,formation, and texture. The materi

Splices shall bekept to a minimum. Splicing compounds shall be noncorrosiveand shall have no deleterious effect on the insulating ordiele
15、ctric values of the paper.10. Sampling10.1 Sample the paper in accordance with Test MethodsD 202.11. Test Methods11.1 The properties of the paper shall be determined inaccordance with Test Methods D 202, except workmanship andappearance shall be visually judged.12. Packaging and Package Marking12.1
16、PackagingThe material shall be wound on a one-piece substantial core with inside diameter as specified. Endsof rolls shall be protected with suitable caps or roll endprotectors to ensure against edge damage. The material shall bepacked in moisture-proof wrappers, boxes, or cartons soconstructed as t
17、o ensure acceptance by common or othercarriers for safe transportation at the lowest rate to the point ofdelivery, unless otherwise specified in the contract or order.12.2 Package MarkingEach container shall be marked onthe side or on one end of the package, or on both the side andend, with the name
18、 and type of material, specification number,purchase order number, manufacturers name or trade mark, orboth, manufacturers roll number, lot number, and the date ofmanufacture. Each roll or pad shall be marked on one side withthe manufacturers name and lot number and the customerspurchase order numbe
19、r.13. Retest and Rejection13.1 If the results of any test do not conform to therequirements prescribed in this specification, at the option ofthe manufacturer that test shall be repeated on two additionalsets of specimens from the same batch or shipment, each ofwhich shall conform to the requirement
20、s specified. If either ofthese two additional sets of specimens fails, the material maybe rejected at the option of the purchaser.13.2 Notice of failure of material based on tests made inaccordance with this specification shall be reported to themanufacturer within 3 weeks from receipt of the materi
21、al bythe purchaser. Any portion of an accepted shipment of materialthat is subsequently shown not to have been in accordance withthis specification at the time of receipt may be rejected,provided the manufacturer is notified within 90 days from thedate of receipt of the material by the purchaser.14.
