1、Designation: D1337 10Standard Practice forStorage Life of Adhesives by Viscosity and Bond Strength1This standard is issued under the fixed designation D1337; the number immediately following the designation indicates the year oforiginal adoption or, in the case of revision, the year of last revision
2、. A number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval. Asuperscript epsilon () indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1. Scope1.1 This practice describes a laboratory method by whichthe storage life of an adhesive may be measured usingviscosity, adhesive streng

The values given in parentheses are for informationonly.1.3 This standard does not purport to address all of thesafety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is theresponsibility of the user of t

Terminology3.1 DefinitionsMany terms in this practice are defined inTerminology D907.4. Significance and Use4.1 This practice may
7、be used to determine the storage lifeof any adhesive where this information is required.4.2 This practice is intended to determine whether thestorage life conforms to the minimum specified storage liferequired of an adhesive by viscosity tests (Procedure A) or bybond strength tests (Procedure B), or
8、 by both. It does so byproviding results before and after a set of standard conditionsthat simulate storage life. The determination of what therequirements for percentage of the original property retained orthe minimum value for a property is found in the relevantmaterial specification, or as agreed

Apparatus5.1 ViscometerUse the apparatus as described inISO 2555.5.2 Controlled-Temperature Chamber, capable of maintain-ing temperature to 63C (65F), to provide temperaturestorage conditions.6. Storage of Adhesive6.1 Store the adhesive and a
10、ll its components, if there areany, in their original and unopened containers when thecontainer is approximately litre (or quart) size. When theadhesive is supplied in larger containers, the desired number ofsamples is withdrawn from the large container. In this lattercase, the size, type of closure
11、, and nature (such as glass, steel,or tin-coated steel) of the small storage container is agreedupon by the purchaser and the manufacturer.6.2 For storage temperature, use any one of the standardtemperatures specified in Practice D618. The time of storage isany time agreed upon by the purchaser and
12、the manufacturer. Ifthe effect of storage time is desired, it is suggested that at leastthree quantities of the adhesive be stored under the prescribedconditions, and tested at various intervals of time. Use aseparate, unopened container at each such test.1This practice is under the jurisdiction of
