Scope1.1 These test methods cover the various test methods thatare applicable to alkylbenzene in order to evaluate thoseproperties pertinent to the characte

3、rization of the alkylbenzenewith respect to its suitability for desired uses.NOTE 1Detergent alkylate comprises alkylbenzenes prepared byvarying processes, of varying alkyl chain configuration and length. Thealkylate is sulfonated for surfactant use, the largest application being indetergent product

Careful control of detergent alkylate characteristics isdesired, for along with sulfonation procedure, variations of the sulfonatecan ensue that may result in either desirable or undesirable end-useproperties.1.2 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded asstandard.
