Scope1.1 This specification covers the range of products com-monly referred to as hexanes, which find uses in the prepara-tion of adhesives, coatings, and

3、printing inks, as raw materialsin chemical synthesis operations, and as solvents in variouskinds of extraction operations.1.2 The following applies to all specified limits in thisstandard; for purposes of determining conformance with thisstandard, an observed value or a calculated value shall beroun

4、ded off “to the nearest unit” in the last right-hand digitused in expressing the specification limit, in accordance withthe rounding-off method of Practice E29.1.3 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded asstandard. Test Methods5.1 The properties enumerated in this specification shall bedetermined in accordance with the following ASTM testmethods:5.1.1 Aniline PointTest Methods D611.5.1.2 Apparent

17、Specific GravityDetermine apparent spe-cific gravity by any method that is accurate to the third decimalplace, the temperature of both specimen and water being15.6C. See Guide D268. If measurement is by hydrometer, theinstrument must be calibrated at the test temperature.5.1.3 Benzene ContentTest Me

18、thod D4367.5.1.4 Bromine IndexTest Method D2710. Bromine indexis defined as the number of milligrams of bromine which willreact with a 100 g sample under test conditions.5.1.5 ColorTest Method D156 or D1209 (see Note 1).
