The surface is then examined and changes in appear-ance of the test surface are reported.4. Significance and Use4.1 An unsatisfactory appearance can result from pressuredeformation of a fil
9、m inherently too soft or containing residualsolvent. This test method is primarily used to evaluate theresistance of a lacquer finish to printing under the conditions ofpackaging, shipping, and warehousing.5. 10、rted on plate glass, plastic, or other surface with anarea at least 100 % greater than the base of the weight. Theplaneness, smoothness, and composition should be agreedupon by the purchaser and the seller.5.2 Imprinting Fabric, 8-oz Army duck, Type III, conform-ing to Fed. Spec. CCC-C-419(f) or che

Preparation of Test Specimen6.1 Single CoatsPrepare a specimen for test by applyingthe test lacquer to a panel with a film applicator or otherspecified method, as described in Practices D823, to give aspecified fi
18、lm thickness to be stated in the result. In the absenceof a specified dry film thickness, 25 6 3m(16 0.1 mil) isrecommended.6.2 Multiple CoatsUse the finish system as agreed uponbetween the purchaser and the seller. In the absence of aspecified dry film thickness, 75 6 8m(36 0.3 mils) arerecommended
19、.6.3 ConditioningAllow to dry as agreed upon between thepurchaser and the seller, but run the test within 48 h aftercoating. In the absence of a specified drying schedule, a periodof 24 h at 23 6 2C (73.5 6 3.5F) and a relative humidity of50 6 5 % is recommended.7. Procedure7.1 Place over a uniform
20、area of the specimen either asmooth piece of duck cloth or a piece of cheesecloth with a feltpad cushion. Place one or more weights, each on top of theother, on the duck or cheesecloth and pad and maintain theweight in compliance with one of the following test conditions:7.1.1 At 23 6 2C (73.5 6 3.5
21、F) and 50 6 5 % relativehumidity for an 18-h period,7.1.2 At 50C (120F) for a 4-h period, or7.1.3 At 60C (140F) for a 4-h period.7.2 After the specified time, remove the weight, pad, andfabric. Remove lint and dust from the panel with a clean airstream. Examine the specimen immediately under bright,
22、diffused illumination for impression of the fabric into thelacquered surface and compare to photographic standards (Fig.1).8. Report8.1 Report the following information:8.1.1 Surface involved,8.1.2 Drying schedule,8.1.3 Film thickness,8.1.4 Weight used,8.1.5 Test temperature used, time, and8.1.6 Con
