This rate which provides a separation of 152mm (6 in.)/min is to be uniform throughout the tests.4.1.4 Operate the machine without any device for maintain-ing maximum load indication. In pendulum-type mac

Where a material is sufficiently exten-sible to lessen radically the separation rate, back it up with asuitable nonextensible material. In reporting such a test, completely identify the backing material and method.5.3

17、 Test materials are to be thick enough to withstand theexpected tensile pull but not over 3 mm (18 in.) in thickness.Wherever possible, the standard thickness of specimens is:metals, 1.6 mm (116 in.); plastics,116 in.; woods,18 in.; rubbercompounds, 1.9 mm (0.075 in.); and cotton duck, 627.4 gm/m2(3

Other special materials, as well as the standardmaterials, are to be completely identified in the test report asspecified in Section 10.5.4 Test at least ten test specimens for each adhesive.5.5 Discard any specimen whose test result is out of line dueto some obvious flaw and retest.6. 20、dividual specimens may be prepared, it isrecommended that specimens be cut from bonded panelsapproximately 152.4 mm (6 in.) in width as shown in Fig. 1(b),so that five standard 25-mm (1-in.) wide specimens areobtained from each panel.7. Conditioning7.1 Condition all specimens for 7 days by exposure

22、 the manufacturer.8. Procedure8.1 Conduct the test as soon as possible after removing thetest specimens from the conditioning atmosphere and prefer-ably under the same conditions.8.2 Separate the free end of the 25-mm (1-in.) wide flexiblemember by hand from the other member for a distance of about1

23、 in. Place the specimen in the testing machine by clamping thefree end of the 8-in. long member in one grip, turning back thefree end of the flexible member and clamping it in the othergrip as shown in Fig. 2. Attach the separated end of thespecimen, with all separate parts except the one under test

24、securely gripped, to the recording head by means of a clampusing care to adjust it symmetrically in order that the tension isdistributed uniformly. Maintain the specimen during the testapproximately in the plane of the clamps. This may be doneeither by attaching the minimum weight required to the fr

Ineither case, take into account the added weight in determiningthe load causing separation. Grip the 1-in. wide flexiblemember symmetrically and firmly without twisting in thepower-
