、Designation: D 2380 04Standard Test Method forMethanol Content of Formaldehyde Solutions1This standard is issued under the fixed designation D 2380; the number immediately following the designation indicates the year oforiginal adoption or, in the case of revision, the year of last revision. A numbe
、r in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval. Asuperscript epsilon (e) indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1. Scope*1.1 This test method provides for the calculation of themethanol content of commercially available 37 % formalde-hyde solutions and is based o
、n the relationship of specificgravity to formaldehyde and methanol content.2Separateequations are given for three ranges of methanol: 0 to 2 %, 6 to8 %, and 12 to 15 %.1.2 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as thestandard. The values given in parentheses are for informationonly.1.3 For
、 purposes of determining conformance of an ob-served or a calculated value using this test method to relevantspecifications, test result(s) shall be rounded off “to the nearestunit” in the last right-hand digit used in expressing thespecification limit, in accordance with the rounding-off methodof P

Procedure5.1 Determine the apparent specific gravity of the materialby a method that is accurate to the fourth decimal place, thetemperature of both the specimen and the water being 25C.See Guide
