Scope*1.1 This specification covers oriented polypropylene (OPP)film in the thickness range from 10 to 75 m 0.4 to 3.0 mils.1.2 The film can contain colorants, s

3、tabilizers, or otheradditives, and can be coated for the improvement of perfor-mance properties (heat sealability, gas permeability, and soforth).1.3 The film can be annealed (heat-set) to reduce theunrestrained linear shrinkage and shrink tension on exposure toheat.1.4 The values stated in SI units

General Requirements4.1 Polymer MaterialThe base polymer shall be a Group1 or 2 polypropylene (PP), as defined in Specification D 4101,or a blend of such Group 1 or 2 PP with one or more otherpolymers, provided the PP fraction is the mai

18、n component.4.2 AppearanceThe film shall be as free as commerciallyfeasible of gels, streaks, pinholes, particulate contaminants,and undispersed raw materials. There shall be no other visibledefects such as holes, tears, or blisters. The edges shall be freeof nicks and cuts visible to the naked eye.

19、 There shall be novisible evidence of damage from shipping.4.3 BlockingThe film shall not be blocked excessively.The limits for permissible blocking shall be as agreed uponbetween the seller and the purchaser.4.4 ThicknessAverage thickness shall be within 610 % ofthe nominal value.4.5 Package YieldP

21、 Food-Packaging RequirementsFilms intended for thepackaging of food, drugs, and cosmetics shall comply with therequirements of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act asamended.35. Specific Requirements5.1 The film material shall comply with the definition oforiented PP film (see 3.1).5.2 For the c

22、haracterization of commercial PP film, thisspecification provides a cell classification based on six perfor-mance parameters, as defined in Table 1. Thus, each film ischaracterized by a code designation consisting of a six-digitnumber, preceded by the acronym OPP-U, OPP-X, or OPP-B.NOTE 2An example

23、of this code designation would be OPP-B101020,which identifies an untreated balanced film with high gloss and lowfriction.6. Sampling6.1 Adequate statistical sampling shall be considered anacceptable alternative.Abatch or lot of film shall be consideredas a unit of manufacture as prepared for shipme

24、nt.7. Test Methods7.1 ConditioningCondition the test specimens at 23 62C 73 6 4F and 50 6 5 % relative humidity for at least 40h, when conditioning is required. Follow Practice D 618,Procedure A. In case of disagreement, the tolerances shall be61C 62F and 62 % relative humidity.7.2 Test ConditionsCo

Inspection8.1 Inspection and certification of the film supplied underthis specification shall conform to the requirements specifiedherein and in Classification D 4000, Section 15.9. Certification9.1 When agreed upon in writing by the purchaser and theseller, a certification shall

32、be made on the basis of acceptanceof the material. This shall consist of a copy of the manufac-turers test report or a statement by the seller, accompanied bya copy of the test results, that the material has been sampled,tested, and inspected in accordance with the provisions of thisspecification. Packaging and Marking10.1 PackagingThe material shall be packaged in stan-dard commercial containers, so constructed as to ensureacceptance by common or other carriers for transportation tothe poin
