9、l in question.7. Procedure7.1 Preparation of Test SurfaceClean the test tiles with agood polish stripper and steel wool. Rinse thoroughly withwater and dry at room temperature.7.2 Floor Finish ApplicationApply in duplicate as shownin the template in 6.3, 0.8 mL of test polish A to a 2 by 8-in.sectio

10、n of OVCT (tile must be level to obtain uniform filmthickness). Apply in a similar fashion duplicate samples ofpreferably a control floor polish B (a second test polish can beused if desired). Let dry for 24 h at 22.8 6 2C (73.4 6 3.6F)and 50 6 5 % relative humidity.7.3 Template for Polish Applicati

17、onditioned coated testpanel on the plate of the washability apparatus in such amanner that the oscillating brush (sponge) will travel at rightangles to the longer side of the dried polish film near the top ofpolish film. Place a clean dummy panel on either side of thetest panel to hold the latter pa

18、nel in place and to provide auniform surface for the oscillating brush (sponge) to travelupon.7.4.1 Industrial Floor PolishesInsert the brush into thereceptacle, and while in an inverted position pour 10 mL ofdetergent solution onto the brush. Immediately turn the brushso that the bristles make cont

19、act with the coated panel and startthe motor. If for any reason the 10 mL has insufficient volumeof detergent solution for good wetting, add more solutiondropwise during the test period. After 100 oscillations, stop themachine, remove the panel and rinse with water being carefulnot to wet the polish

20、 film below where it was scrubbed. Blotdry. Below the first track, repeat the scrubbing operation usinga fresh 10 mL of detergent solution for 200 cycles, rinse, andblot dry.7.4.2 Template for Detergent Resistance TestSee Fig. 2.7.4.3 Household Floor PolishesUse exactly the sameprocedure as for indu

21、strial floor polishes except replace the hogbristle brush with a cellulose sponge cut to fit the washabilityreceptacle. More detergent solution will be required to saturatethe sponge; 25 mL is suggested to start.7.4.4 Prior to rating the panels, attempt to repair thescrubbed section of polish films

22、by wiping briskly withcheesecloth.8. Report8.1 The report shall include a qualitative rating in accor-dance with the following terminology.8.2 Deterioration in film appearance shall comprise filmremoval, permanent film whitening, haze development intreated polish film, or any combination of these fa
