Significance and Use5.1 This test method is intended to differentiate between theexterior durability of two or more adhesives. At present, this isdone by comparing the adhesives as described in 4.5 and 4.6rather than by assi

This makes it suitable for research, adhesiveevaluation, process evaluation, and product design. A modifi-cat

The results obtained for a particular adhesivecan be used to show how many cycles are required for a millquality control test of that adhesive.1This test method i

Evaluation oflong-term durability of adhesives in wood joints under severeservice conditions, including extended exterior exposure, is acomplex field, and no entirely reliable
17、short-term test is knownto ensure that a new type of adhesive system will satisfactorilyresist all of the chemical, moisture, microorganism, and solventeffects that such severe service may involve. Except for effectsof microorganisms and other similar biological influences, thistest method has prove

It has proven very useful to distinguishbetween bondlines, made with adhesives of proven chemicaland biological durability,

It does not, in itself, assure that new types ofadhesives will always withstand actual exterior or other severeservice.6. Apparatus6.
