15、erent laboratories analyzed two samples of acetic acid induplicate on two different days. The results were treated inaccordance with Practice E 180. The within-laboratory coeffi-cient of variation was 3.05 % with 14 df and the between-laboratory coefficient of variation was 6.00 % with 6 df. Basedup

16、on these coefficients of variation, the following criteriashould be used for judging the acceptability of results at the95 % confidence level.5.1.5.3 RepeatabilityTwo results, each the mean of dupli-cates, obtained by the same operator on different days shouldbe considered suspect if they differ by

17、more than 9.2 %relative.5.1.5.4 ReproducibilityTwo results, each the mean ofduplicates, obtained by operators in different laboratoriesshould be considered suspect if they differ by more than 20.6 %relative.5.1.5.5 BiasBias cannot be determined for this specifica-tion because there is no available m

18、aterial having an acceptedreference value.5.1.6 AcetaldehydeTest Method D 2191, using 100 mL ofsodium bisulfite and a 25-mL specimen.5.1.6.1 ReportReport the acetaldehyde content to thenearest 0.001 %. Duplicates that agree within 0.007 % absoluteare acceptable for averaging (95 % confidence level).

19、5.1.6.2 PrecisionThe precision statements are based uponan interlaboratory study in which one operator in eight differentlaboratories analyzed two samples of acetic acid in duplicateon 2 different days. The results were treated in accordance withPractice E 180. The within-laboratory standard deviati

20、on was f0.0055 with 14 df, and the between-laboratory standard devia-tion was 0.0094 with 6 df. Based upon these standard devia-tions, the following criteria should be used for judging theacceptability of results at the 95 % confidence level.5.1.6.3 RepeatabilityTwo results, each of the mean ofdupli

21、cates, obtained by the same operator on different daysshould be considered suspect if they differ by more than0.017 % absolute.5.1.6.4 ReproducibilityTwo results, each the mean ofduplicates, obtained by operators in different laboratoriesshould be considered suspect if they differ by more than0.032

22、% absolute.5.1.6.5 BiasBias cannot be determined for this specifica-tion because there is no available material having an acceptedreference value.5.1.7 Formic AcidTest Method D 3546 uses formic acidas a calibration standard. The test method measures all reduc-ing acids as formic acid.6. Packaging an
