Significance and Use5.1 Fabrics intended for this end-use should meet all of therequirements listed inTable 1 .5.2 It should be recognized that fabrics can be producedwith an almost infinite number of combination of construc

16、tionvariables (for example, type of fibers, percentage of fibers, yarntwist, yarn number, warp and pick count, chemical andmechanical finishes). Additionally, fashion or aesthetics dictatethat the ultimate consumer may find acceptable articles madefrom fabrics that do not conform to all of the requi

17、rements inTable 1.5.2.1 Hence, no single performance specification can possi-bly apply to all the various fabrics that could be utilized for thisend-use.5.3 The uses and significance of particular properties andtest methods are discussed in the appropriate sections of thespecified test methods.6. Te

18、st Methods (see Note 1)6.1 Breaking Force Determine the dry breaking force, inthe standard atmosphere for testing textiles, as directed in TestMethod D5034, using a constant rate of extension (CRE)tensile-testing machine.6.2 Resistance to Yarn SlippageDetermine the resistanceto yarn slippage as dire

19、cted in Test Method D434.NOTE 2The precision of Method D434 is being established, and itmay not be suitable for fabrics with low-yarn counts in terms of ends andpicks per inch (see 5.2).6.3 Tongue-Tear StrengthDetermine the tongue-tearstrength as directed in Test Method D2261.6.4 Yarn Distortion Det

20、ermine the yarn distortion asdirected in Test Method D1336.6.5 Dimensional Change:6.5.1 LaunderingDetermine the maximum dimensionalchange after five launderings as directed in the applicableprocedure in AATCC Test Method 135 or as agreed uponbetween the purchaser and the supplier (Note 3).6.5.1.1 Th

21、e wash conditions and drying procedure shall beas specified by the supplier.6.5.2 Drycleaning Determine the maximum-dimensionalchange after three dry cleanings as directed in 10.1.1 through10.1.5 of Test Methods D2724 or as agreed upon between thepurchaser and the supplier (Note 3).NOTE 3Launderable

22、 fabrics are expected to be dry-cleanable exceptwhere all or part of the fabric is not dry-cleanable and is so labeled. Forexample, the fabric could contain a functional finish that is soluble in thesolvent, or the fiber could be degraded by the solvent, as would be the casewith poly(vinyl chloride)

23、 fiber. “Dry-cleanable” goods are to be dry-cleaned only.6.6 Colorfastness:6.6.1 Burnt Gas Fumes Determine the colorfastness toburnt gas fumes on the original fabric and after one launderingor one dry cleaning as directed inAATCC Test Method 23 after1 cycle.NOTE 4Washing conditions shall be the same

24、 as those used in 6.5.1.1.Dry-cleaning conditions shall be the same as those used in 6.5.2.6.6.2 LaunderingDetermine the colorfastness to launder-ing as directed in the applicable procedure of AATCC TestMethod 61. The test conditions shall be as specified by thesupplier (Note 3).6.6.3 Dry cleaningDe
