Classification3.1 Type IType I is made from asphalts characterized asself-healing, adhesive, and ductile, and conforming to therequirements of

Materials and Manufacture4.1 Asphalt roof cement shall consist of an asphalt base,volatile petroleum solvents, and mineral and/or other stabiliz-ers, excluding asbestos, mixed to a smooth, uniform consis-tency suitable for trowel application.5. Composition5.1 Asphalt roof cement complying

Physical Requirements6.1 UniformityA thoroughly stirred sample shall show noseparation of solvent or
10、 settling that cannot be overcome bymoderate stirring after standing for 72 h at room temperature ina closed container.6.2 WorkabilityThe cement shall be of a consistency thatwill spread readily and permit troweling smooth coatings, 2 to6mm(116 to14 in.) thick, on prepared roofing, saturated felt,an
11、d metal surfaces at ambient temperatures above 10C (50F).6.3 Behavior at 60C (140F)The cement shall show noevidence of blistering, and sag or slide shall be no greater than6mm(14 in.).6.4 Pliability at 0C (32F)There shall be no cracking orseparation of the cement from the metal.7.
