3、ovide a callout system for thermoplasticpolyester materials based on ISO test methods.1. Scope*1.1 This classification system covers thermoplastic polyes-ter materials suitable for molding or extrusion.1.2 This classification system allows for the use of recycledthermoplastic polyester materials pro
4、vided that the require-ments as stated in this classification system and subsequent linecallout (specification) are met. The proportions of recycledmaterial used, as well as the nature and amount of anycontaminant, however, cannot be covered practically in thisspecification.1.3 The properties includ
5、ed in this standard are thoserequired to identify the compositions covered. Other require-ments necessary to identify particular characteristics importantto specialized applications are to be specified by using thesuffixes as given in Section 5.1.4 This classification system and subsequent line call
6、out(specification) are intended to provide a means of calling outplastic materials used in the fabrication of end items or parts.It is not intended for the selection of materials. Materialselection can be made by those having expertise in the plasticfield only after careful consideration of the desi
7、gn and perfor-mance required of the part, the environment to which it will beexposed, the fabrication process to be used, the costs involved,and the inherent properties of the material other than thosecovered by this specification.1.5 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as thestandard.

22、dance with Terminologies D883 and D1600.4. Classification4.1 Thermoplastic polyester materials are classified intogroups according to their composition. These groups aresubdivided into classes and grades, as indicated in the basicproperty table (Table TPES).NOTE 2An example of this classification sy
23、stem is as follows. Thedesignation TPES 0113 would indicate:TPES = thermoplastic polyester as found in TerminologyD1600,01 (group) = PBT,1 (class) = general purpose, and3 (grade) = requirements given in Table TPES.4.1.1 Grades of reinforced or filled versions, or both, of thebasic materials are iden
24、tified by a single letter that indicates thereinforcement or filler used and two digits, in multiples of five,that indicate the nominal quantity in percent by weight. Thus,a letter designation G for glass reinforced and 35 for percent orreinforcement, G35, specifies a material with a nominal glassle
25、vel of 35 %. 31、cluded in Table TPES are classified in accordance withTable TPES and Table A or B. Table TPES is used to specifythe group of thermoplastic polyester, and Table A or B is usedto specify property requirements.4.2.1 Specific requirements for variations of thermoplasticpolyester materials shall be indic
