Scope*1.1 This specification covers requirements and test methodsfor the material, dimensions, and workmanship, and the prop-erties of extruded, compression molded and injection moldedacetal sheet, plate, rod, and tubular bar manufactured fromacetal.1.2 The properties included in this s

4、pecification are thoserequired for the compositions covered. Requirements neces-sary to identify particular characteristics important to special-ized applications may be described by using the classificationsystem given in Section 4.1.3 This specification allows for the use of recycled plasticsas de

27、5.2 Table 1 may also be used to describe extruded,compression molded and injection molded products not in-cluded in Table S-POM via a cell callout which includes theapplicable Table S-POM acetal type and specific properties(Designations 1 through 7).4.5.3 To facilitate the incorporation of future or

28、 specialmaterials not covered by Table S-POM , the “as specified”category (OO) for type, class and grade is shown on the tablewith the basic properties to be obtained from Table 1, as theyapply.4.5.4 Reinforcements and Additive MaterialsA symbol(single-letter) will be used for the major reinforcemen

29、t orcombination, or both, along with two numbers that indicate thepercentage of addition by mass with the tolerances as tabulatedD6100052below. Any requirement for specific test data for a givenproduction lot should be specified at the time of order. Phys

Dimensional Requirements6.1 The type, class and grade is further differentiated basedon dimensional stability (elevated temperature excursion tes

41、t),Table S-POM, and dimensional requirements, Tables A and B.Products shall be produced within commercial tolerances andwith the lowest stress levels for machined parts as delineated inTables A and B for extruded, compression molded or injectionmolded products. The manner in which the tolerances are

42、obtained is not relevant.6.2 Tubular bar dimensions shall be supplied in the unfin-ished condition, unless otherwise specified at time of order,sufficient to finish to the nominal dimension ordered.D61000536.3 The maximum allowable camber or bow, or both, shallbe within the limits referenced in Tabl

43、es A-1 and B-1.7. Workmanship, Finish, and Appearance7.1 AppearanceThe color of products shall be as pub-lished by the shapes manufacturer. They shall be uniform incolor throughout the thickness. Specific colors and colormatching only as agreed to by order. Physical properties maybe affected by colo

44、rs.7.2 FinishAll products shall be free of blisters, wrinkles,cracks, gouges and defects that restrict commercial use of theproduct. Special surface finish shall be supplied only whenspecified in the purchase order or contract.7.3 DefectsAll products shall be free of dirt, foreignmaterial and embedd

45、ed particles exceeding132 in. maximumdiameter as defined in 7.3.1.7.3.1 The criteria for determining the internal cleanlinessshall be external visual inspection. A maximum number of twointernal defects per square foot of plate/sheet and one footlength of rod and tubular bar. Clusters of defects less

46、 than132in. diameter are to be counted as a single defect.7.4 Centerline PorosityMaximum allowable porositylevel for products designated as porosity Level 1 shall notexceed 4 % as described in 7.4.1. Products identified lowporosity (LP) shall not have any centerline porosity.7.4.1 A rod (see Fig. 1)

47、 or plate (see Fig. 2) or tubular barwall, full cross-section sample shall have a milled surface ofapproximately 72 RMS prior to testing. Color over thiscenterline or dot with red permanent magic marker and allowone minute for the markings to dry. For colored product a moresensitive ultraviolet fluo

48、rescent yellow permanent magicmarker is required. Clean off the colored area with acetone.The ink or dye will not be washed from inside the porosity andwill show up as colored particles. Measure the widest part orlargest diameter of the porosity line. Colored product must beexamined using a UV light

49、 sensor (long wavelength).
