22、e product may becategorized by type, grade, and class depending on resin composition as defined in Table S-PVC-II.4.3 The type, class and grade is further differentiated based on dimensional stability (elevated temperature excursion test). 23、Property Tables:4.4.1 Use Tables S-PVC-I and S-PVC-II may be used to describe extruded products.4.4.2 Use Table 1 may also be used to describe extruded products not included in Table S-PVC-I or S-PVC-II via a cell calloutthat includes the applicable material type and specific properties (Designation

28、istics of extruded product. A space must be used as a separator between the specification numberand the type designation. No separators are needed between type, class, and grade. When special notes are to be included, suchinformation shouldshall be preceded by a comma. Special tolerances must be not

29、ed at time of order and are inserted after the gradein parenthesis and preceded by a comma. Note2The4.5.2.1 The material used in the manufacture of PVC and CPVC shapes intended for contact with or the transport of potablewater, or both, must be evaluated and certified as safe for this purpose by a t

30、esting agency acceptable to the local health authority.The evaluation shall be in accordance with the requirements for chemical extraction, taste, and odor, that are no less restrictive thanthose included in the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) Standard 61.5. Ordering Information5.1 All shapes c

31、overed by this specification shall be ordered using the proper callout designation (see 4.5).6. Physical Property Requirements6.1 The physical property values listed within this specifications tables are to be considered minimum specification values.Anyrequirement for specific test data for a given

32、production lot shall be specified at the time of order. Physical Use Table 1 to specifyphysical properties for extruded products not yet included in Table S-PVC-I or S-PVC-II may be specified by using Table 1 forextruded products. S-PVC-II.7. Dimensional Requirements7.1 The type, class, and grade is

33、 differentiated based on dimensional stability (elevated temperature excursion test) as indicatedin Table S-PVC-II.7.2 Products shall be produced within the commercial tolerances and with the lowest stress levels for machined parts asdelineated in Table A.7.3 Tubular bar dimensions shall be supplied

34、 in the unfinished condition, unless otherwise specified at time of order, sufficientto finish to the nominal dimensions ordered.7.4 The maximum allowable camber at final inspection at the factory shall be within the limits referenced in Table A.8. Workmanship, Finish and Appearance8.1 AppearanceThe

35、 resin material color for poly(vinyl chloride) shall be dark gray. The resin material color for chlorinatedpoly(vinyl chloride) shall be light gray. All shapes shall be uniform in color throughout the thickness. Specific colors and colormatching only as agreed to by order.8.1.1 PIt is possible that

36、physical properties maywill be affected by other colors. Regardless of color, minimum properties of4.4 must be met.8.2 FinishAll products shall be free of blisters, wrinkles, cracks, gouges and defects that restrict commercial use of theproduct. Special surface finish shall be supplied only when spe

37、cified in the purchase order or contract.8.3 DefectsAll products shall be free of visual voids, dirt, foreign material and embedded particles exceeding 0.040 in. (1 mm)maximum diameter as defined in 8.3.18.3.1 The criteria for determining the cleanliness shall be external visual inspection.Amaximum

38、number of two defects per onefoot length of rod and tubular bar are allowed. Clusters of defects less than 0.040 in. (1 mm) diameter are to be counted as a singledefect.8.4 Extrusion QualityProducts shall not flake or disintegrate when tested in accordance with the test method for degree offusion as

39、 defined in 12.6.9. Sampling9.1 Sampling shall be statistically adequate to satisfy the requirements of this specification as applicable (see ANSI Z1.4-1993).9.2 For purposes of sampling, an inspection lot for examination and tests shall consist of all material of the same type, class,grade and nomi

40、nal size submitted for inspection at one time.10. Number of Tests10.1 Routine lot inspection shall consist of all the criteria specified in the applicable product tables.10.2 The criteria listed in these product tables and definitions are sufficient to establish conformity of the shape to thisspecif

41、ication. When the number of test specimens is not stated in the test method, a single determination may be made.it isD6263 114acceptable to make a single determination. If more than single determinations and separate portions of the same sample are made,the results shall be averaged. The final resul

42、t shall conform to the requirements prescribed in this specification.11. Test Conditions11.1 Conditions of SpecimensThe specification values and dimensions are based on conditioning techniques outlined inProcedure A of Practice D61811.2 Standard TemperatureThe tests shall be conducted at the standar

43、d laboratory temperature of 73.4 6 3.6F (23 6 2C)and 50 6 5 % relative humidity.12. Test Methods12.1 Tensile stress at break, elongation at break, and tensile modulus (tangent) are in accordance with Test Method D638, atthe rate of 0.2 in. (5 mm)/min. Values obtained shall meet the requirements call

44、ed out in Table S-PVC-I.12.1.1 All rod specimens are in accordance with Test Method D638.12.2 Dimensional Stability:12.2.1 Specimen Preparation (a Minimum of Three Test Samples Required):12.2.1.1 RodsPrepare each specimen by cutting a 1.5 in. (35 mm) long slice from the shape to be tested. Machine t

45、he sliceusing a coolant and good machining practices to a length of 1.000 6 0.005 in. (25 6 0.13 mm). Each end of the specimen shallhave a machined surface.12.2.2 Testing ProcedureMeasure the outside diameter and thickness or length of the specimen as applicable at 73.4 6 1.8F(23 6 1C) to the neares

46、t 0.0001 in. (0.025 mm). All measurements shall be done on the centerline. Also take measurements forthickness halfway to center and for diameter at mid-point.12.2.2.1 Place the specimen in a bath consisting of polyalkylene glycol or an air circulating oven heated to 250 6 5F (121 63C).After 6 h all

47、ow the specimen to slowly cool to room temperature at a rate not to exceed 40F (22C)/h. Measure the specimenat 73.4 6 3.6F (23 6 2C) and calculate the percent change in each dimension.12.2.3 ReproducibilityInterlaboratory reproducibility is being determined and will be added within one year. A preci

48、sionstatement will be finalized and included within two years.12.3 Lengthwise Camber:12.3.1 Make all measurements for camber using the maximum distance rod deviates from the straight line extended from edgeto edge when measured in accordance with 12.3.2. The shape shall be oriented such that the wei

49、ght of the product doesnt influencethe results.12.3.2 Rod:12.3.2.1 RodLay each rod on its side and measure it with concave side facing a straight edge. Measure camber from thestraight edge to the maximum concave point on the rod. Camber mayshall not exceed the values of Table A.12.3.3 ReproducibilityInterlaboratory reproducibility is being determined and will be added within one year. A precisionstatement will be finalized and included within two years.12.4 Flexural modulus is in accordance with Test Method D790, specimen14 in. (1.4 mm) thick
