Ordering Information3.1 The seller shall mention this specification numbe
7、r in allquotations and when acknowledging purchase order.4. Materials and Manufacture4.1 Material shall be based on 100 % virgin fluoroelastomerterpolymer of at least 68 % by weight of fluorine content. Thecompound shall contain no less than 70 % by weight offluoroelastomer. The remaining 30 % by we
8、ight shall becomprised of thermal carbon black as reinforcing filler withcalcium hydroxide, magnesium oxide, and minimal processingaids (5 % by weight). The fluoroelastomer curative shall be ofthe dihydroxy, bisphenol type. No amount of reprocessedfluoroelastomer scrap or nonfluoroelastomer polymer
9、is accept-able.4.2 As-received virgin fluroelastomer sampled in accor-dance with Section 6 shall be fully press-cured for 20 min at150C (302F) but not post-cured. Other time/temperatureconditions are acceptable providing they produce vulcanizatesthat meet the property requirements.5. Physical Proper
10、ties5.1 The sample shall meet the physical property require-ments shown in Table 1.5.2 A sample shall be exposed to 260 6 3C (500 6 5F)for 70 6 0.5 h per Test Method D 573 and conform with thefollowing property change requirements to determine dry heatresistance:Hardness Change 610 pointsTensile Str

Sampling6.1 Sampling and testing shall be as follows:6.1.1 For acceptance tests, sufficient product shall be takenat random from each lot to perform all required tests. Thenumber of sample
12、s tested per lot shall be no less than three.6.1.2 ASTM International test specimens shall be preparedfrom the same batch of polymer/compound as the materialbeing supplied and shall be fully press-cured as specified in4.2.6.1.3 A lot is all compound processed in one continuous runand presented to th

Number of Test and Retests7.1 Acceptance TestsThe seller of the expansion jointshall be responsible for checking the batch sample test results,confirming that the
16、results are in accordance with this specifi-cation, and preparing the “Batch Test Certification” report. Thebuyer reserves the right to perform confirmatory tests asdeemed necessary to ensure that the product conforms to the“Batch Test Certification” and the full requirements of thisspecification.7.
17、1.1 Acceptance tests shall cover the following physicalproperties:7.1.1.1 Hardness, as received (see Table 1);7.1.1.2 Tensile strength, as received (see Table 1);7.1.1.3 Elongation, as received (see Table 1);7.1.1.4 Specific gravity, as received (see Table 1); and7.1.1.5 Heat aging, as received (see
18、 5.2).7.1.2 Shipments and certification with test values fromacceptance tests in 7.1.1 shall include traceability back topolymers, grade, and lot number.7.2 Periodic TestsTests for the requirements shown inTable 2 are periodic tests and are performed at the purchasersdiscretion unless the purchaser
19、specifies frequency of testing.7.3 Preproduction TestsTests for all technical require-ments are preproduction tests and shall be performed initiallyand just prior to shipment of the expansion joints to the buyer,or when a change of ingredients or processing or both requiresreapproval or when the buy
20、er deems confirmatory testing isrequired.8. Inspection8.1 The seller of the expansion joints shall be responsiblefor preparation of all batch test samples, conducting all therequired specification tests, and providing the test data. Thebuyer reserves the right to obtain additional batch samples andp
21、erform all confirmatory testing he/she deems necessary toensure the product conforms to the full requirements of thisspecification.9. Certification9.1 The seller shall furnish with each shipment a reportshowing the test results on each lot so that conformance toacceptance requirements can be determi
22、ned. Documentationmust include traceability back to polymer type, supplier, andsuppliers lot number.10. Quality Assurance10.1 The product, as received, shall be uniform in qualityand condition, smooth, as free from foreign materials ascommercially practical, and free from imperfections detrimen-tal
