Summary of Test Method3.1 This test consists of exposing two specimens of 2000 65by906

6、5 mm (78.7 6 0.2 by 3.5 6 0.2 in.) to cycles oftemperature produced by infrared radiation. The variation inthe specimen length dimension is measured in relation to thenumber of cycles and temperature variation. This test applies tometal foil surfaced SBS-modified bitumen roofing sheets.4. Significan

7、ce and Use4.1 This test method is used to determine the dimensionalchanges and physical stability of the product upon exposure tospecified cyclic thermal conditions. It is also useful in deter-mining the integrity of the bond between the metal foil and theSBS-modified bituminous compound.5. Apparatu

8、s5.1 The apparatus and test assembly as shown in Figs. 1-4consists of the following components.5.2 A hollow metal, rigid support or base on which the testsample is mounted, hereafter referred to as the shock table. Thebase shall be 2110 6 25 mm long by 280 6 25 mm wide by125 6 13 mm tall (83 6 1.0 i

9、n. long by 11 6 1.0 in. wide by5 6 0.5 in. tall). The shock table shall have water inlet andoutlet attachments mounted such that the support is always fullof circulating water. This is done to avoid expansion orcontraction of the shock table during the test.NOTE 1The support can be easily constructe

10、d by welding two piecesof wide channel iron together with the addition of end plates.5.3 Mounting brackets for the measuring devices shall beattached to the shock table such that the measuring device islevel with and facing the metal reference tabs attached to thefoil surface of the specimens (see 6

11、.4).5.4 Linear transducers, or dial indicators, accurate to 10 m(0.4 mil) shall be used to measure the change in distancebetween the adhered metal reference tab and the mountedindicator.5.5 Six or more 250 W infrared heating lamps are mountedabove the support equally spaced across the 2000 mm (79 in

12、.)test length.NOTE 2The number of lamps is not critical as long as the temperatureis accurate and consistent.5.6 Sheet metal panels, or other suitable protection, shall bemounted on the sides and ends of the hollow support to reducedrafts and temperature fluctuations during the test. The panelsshoul

13、d be easily removed to allow for daily observations of thetest assembly.5.7 A regulating system shall be used to maintain the timingof the heating and cooling cycles. Temperature may bemaintained automatically or manually, but the temperatureshall be measured using thermocouples.1This test method is

Divide this value by theinitial specimen length (Lo) and multiply by 100.DL / Lo!3 100 5 % dimensional change per half cycle9.2 Plot the percent change in dimension after each halfcycle (after each heating period and cooling period) for bothspecimens. See F

Examine the specimens daily forwrinkling, buckling, or disbonding from the insulation sub-strate, or delamination of the foil surfacing from the SBS-modified bitumen compound.

29、If any of these conditions areobserved, the test shall be terminated. Daily examination shallbe permitted to be suspended to allow for non-monitoredperiods as described in 8.3.10. Report10.1 Report the percent dimensional change for each speci-men at the end of 30 cycles. Include the plot described
