32、d Criteria:A1.1.1 ASCE 7-02 is the basis for determining the designpressures used in this test method. The velocity pressures, q,used in this test method have been computed using thefollowing equation:q 5 0.00256 KzKdV2I lb/ft2! 5 0.613 KzKdV2I N/m2! (A1.1)where:V = wind velocity, mph (km/h). The ba
33、sic wind speedcorresponds to a 3-s gust speed at 33 ft (10.1 m)above ground in exposure category C, as described inASCE 7-02. A velocity of 110 mph (177 km/h) wasused in this specification. (See Note A1.1.)I = “importance factor” as described in ASCE 7-02.Avalue of 1.0 was used.Kz= “velocity pressur
34、e coefficient” as described inASCE 7-02.A“Kz” of 0.70 was used in the windpressure calculations, which is the value fromASCE 7-02 for an elevation of 30 ft (9.1 m) aboveground level and Exposure Category B.Kd= “wind directionality factor” as described in ASCE702. A “Kd” of 0.85 is used.A1.1.1.1 The
35、velocity pressure = 18.43 lbf/ft2(882 Pa).NOTE A1.1In ASCE 7-02 the default wind speeds are given forexposure category C, and a table is provided to adjust this wind speed forother exposure categories. Since most siding is installed on buildingslocated in exposure category B, the velocity pressure c

The effective area is taken as 10 ft2(the area ofone piece of siding), an enclosed building is assumed, andfact

For applications where theeffective design pressure is greater than 29.12 lbf/ft2(1394Pa) (for example, wind zone area

The product shall be subjected to a static testpressure determined by the formula in A1.2.2. These loadingconditions apply only to sidin

In these applications, the load the sidingwill see is equal to the total design pressure. The static testpressure required fo
