Terminology3.1 Definitions of Terms Specific to This Standard:3.1.1 HFChydrofluorocarbon; a chemical compound inwhich the compound molecule is comprised exclusively ofhydrogen, chlorine, fluor

9、ine and carbon atoms.3.1.2 HFC Blend Btertiary blend comprised of HFC-134a(1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane), HFC-125 (pentafluoroethane), andcarbon dioxide (CO2); a compound used to inert, extinguish, orsuppress a fire or explosion hazard.3.1.2.1 DiscussionThe terminology system for fluorine-containing co

10、mpounds (described in detail in ASHRAE Stan-dard 34) provides a convenient means to reference the structureof individual compounds. By definition, the first digit of thenumbering system represents one less than the number ofcarbon atoms in the compound molecule; the second digit, onemore than the nu

11、mber of hydrogen atoms in the compoundmolecule; and the third digit, the number of fluorine atoms inthe compound molecule. Unaccounted for valence require-ments are assumed to be chlorine atoms. For example, thedesignation HFC-123 indicates two carbon atoms (1 + 1), twohydrogen atoms (3-1), and four

Material Requirements4.1 Type I Mixtures of HFC Blend B and Nitrogen:4.1.1 The nitrogen (N2) partial pressure shall be such thatthe safe working pressure of

17、 the receiving vessel is notexceeded. To prevent excessive pressure, the fill density ofHFC Blend B within a container should not exceed that neededto achieve complete filling of the container at the maximumenvisaged storage temperature. For example, for the U.S. DOT4BA500 cylinder, the nitrogen par

18、tial pressure shall not exceed316 psig at 70F (21.8 bar at 21C) for a 58 lb/ft3(930 kg/m3)fill density (yielding a total pressure of 360 psig at 70F (25.8bar at 21C). For this example, the safe working pressure of the4BA500 cylinder is not exceeded for temperatures below130F (54C).4.1.2 HFC Blend B

19、shall conform to the requirementsprescribed in Table 1 when tested by appropriate test methods,such as those listed in Section 6.4.1.3 When a material analysis is required, by agreementbetween the purchaser and the supplier, the total pressure in theHFC Blend B container, partial pressure of the N2,

20、 the filldensity of HFC Blend B within the container, and the maxi-mum safe storage temperature shall be part of the materialanalysis (certification). The pressure shall be reported inpound-force per square inch gage (preferred) or bar. The filldensity shall be reported in pounds per cubic foot at 7

21、0F(preferred) or kilograms per cubic meter at 21C. The maxi-mum safe storage temperature of the HFC Blend B containershall be reported in degrees Fahrenheit (preferred) or indegrees Celsius and shall conform to applicable regulations forthe HFC Blend B container design and use.4.2 Type II, HFC Blend

22、 B shall conform to the requirementsof Type I, as listed in 4.1, and shall contain no more than 1.5% by volume non-absorbable non-condensable gases in vaporphase, expressed as air when tested by the appropriate testmethod(s) listed in Section 6.4.3 By agreement between the purchaser and the supplier

23、,analysis may be required and limits established for elements orcompounds not specified in Table 1.4.4 Unless otherwise specified, Type II is assumed.4.5 CAUTION: Prolonged exposure to concentrations ofHFC Blend B in excess of 7.5 % by volume in air duringperiods of elevated adrenaline could produce

24、 cardiac arrhyth-mia in some personnel.5. Sampling5.1 Samples of HFC Blend B, taken from the liquid phase,shall be taken from filled containers in accordance with themethod specified in ISO 3427. The sampling cylinder shall becapable of safely resisting the vapor pressure of the sample atthe highest

25、 temperature that could be encountered.5.2 The HFC Blend B selected in accordance with 5.1 shallbe tested for quality conformance in accordance with Table 1.The presence of one or more defects shall be cause forrejection.6. Test Methods6.1 PurityConduct the analysis in accordance with Prac-tice D680

26、6.6.2 AcidityConduct the analysis in accordance with themethod specified in 2008 Appendix C to AHRI Standard700-2006, Part 1.6.3 Water ContentConduct the analysis in accordancewith the method specified in 2008 Appendix C to AHRIStandard 700-2006, Part 2.6.4 Nonvolatile ResidueConduct the analysis in

27、 accor-dance with the method specified in 2008 Appendix C to AHRIStandard 700-2006, Part 3.6.5 Suspended Matter or SedimentWhile performing thenonvolatile residue analysis, examine visually for any sus-pended matter or sediment. Observation of any suspendedmatter or sediment shall constitute failure

28、 of the test.7. Container, Packaging, and Package Marking7.1 Containers used for shipping and storage of HFC BlendB conforming to this specification shall be marked in accor-dance with Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Title 49, Part172, Subpart D. The proper shipping name is “CompressedGases. N.O.S

29、., (contains pentafluoroethane, carbon dioxide),2.2, UN1956.” In addition to DOT requirements, containersshould be marked with the following information as a mini-mum:7.1.1 Suppliers name and address,7.1.2 HFC Blend B, and7.1.3 Statement that material conforms to SpecificationD7327.8.
